For anyone who has an interest in Buddhism, I recommend watching this film, which deals with a man (played by Andy Lau) who can see people's karma. He meets a young woman and sees her as the reincarnation of a Japanese soldier, and the story goes from there.

In part its supposed...( read more) to be comedic, but who will laugh I wonder?

In fact it's very disturbing - and I'm not only talking about Andy Lau's prosthetic body. It is desperately depressing to see such fatalism but on the screen - not because it shouldn't be portrayed, but because it reflects a sad philosophy that so many are trapped within.

Starts out as just another action film, but then progresses into a Buddhist parable(!).

I was surprised how much I liked this film. It is a series of very interesting plot threads that very quickly all come together to create an intricate weave of karma. A definite morality play that while not a comedy has funny moments in its very serious message.

UNderneath the silly suit Andy Lau wears and the crazy wire-fu, there's an interesting story of accepting one's fate.

    Worth a rental easily.
