  Whilst a lot of this film was slow moving, the ending qas quite speedy with a lot to take in. The story itself escalated into a fairly good plot and I have to say I don?t remember the last time I jumped so much at a Horror film, of course this was helped by watching the film in the quiet with ear phones on. Worth watching just for the jumpy scenes and the unpredictable twist.

  <i>The Ghost</i> (aka <i>Ryeong</i>) is a restrained, thoughtfully plotted K-Horror that's sort of a cross between <i>Ringu</i> and <i>Ghost Voice</i> (aka <i>The Voice</i>), but a lot less derivative than that sounds. It invokes the usual long black-haired ghosties and heavy use of water (echoes of <i>Dark Water</i>), but the film is more concerned with atmosphere and the nature of identity than cheap scares or sudden screeches on the soundtrack (which it admittedly has its share of). An assured debut from Kim Tae-kyeong and a superb lead performance from Kim Ha-Neul.

  More of the same.. korean ghost story with revenge as the central theme. However, this one starts out a bit confusing and flatlines before the story really picks up and becomes a bit more in focus. Of course there is the standard obligatory twist at the end, and one final turn to leave the view wondering. This film is short on real jumps and chills, but the story does provide plenty of opaque and head scratching scenes to compensate..just not in a good way. For once I would like to finish watching a movie and know what really happened...am I asking for too much?
