Quite possibly the most pointless movie I've ever seen. This made even less sense than Donnie Darko, which I still don't fully understand.
Briana Evigan, Daveigh Chase, Ed Westwick
The story picks up seven years after the first film when little sister Samantha Darko and her best friend Corey are now 18 and on a roadtrip to Los Angeles when they are plagued by bizarre visions.

S. Darko has the look and feel of Donnie Darko. I liked how the story was both a logical followup, plus a fresh reversal of Donnie Darko's personal time travel predicament. Woefully, the execution could've been much better. None of the characters and ideas were fleshed out well e...( read more)

Please, stop with the remakes and reboots already. Complete and utter disaster

It's not as bad as you may think. It's just utterly pointless. Essentially what the filmmakers have done is tell almost an identical story to Donnie Darko, just with Donnie's sister as the main character. If you understand Richard Kelly's time travel talk, then the big twist i...( read more)

Well...um...I thought the score was great and they used a Cocteau Twins song so that was a plus but otherwise....
Let me put it this way, I'm the first to admit that I didn't understand everything about Donnie Darko but the makers of this didnt know ANYthing about it.
It's like...( read more) -

Badly acted, silly and confusing story, has none of the charms the original Darko movie was characterized by and is rather seems like a try hard attempt.

I never really got into the first one,So I had my doubts about the second.Im sorry this is even worse then the first. This was one messed up work for me.
Who ever is a fan of the first is going to be disapointed I think. This wasnt very good and the story was sub-par at best. -

If you saw and liked the first one then you should see this one too. I liked both the Darko movies because it is a little weird and for me has that "wow what the...?" feeling. Definitely different than other movies. Very interesting.

Rather weak entry; It was a good idea that Richard Kelly stayed clear of this one.

June 11, 2009Hey.. okay, I'll say a few things to start; 1) I loved Donnie Darko to no end. 2) I watched it countless time (and several more in commentary) and understood just about all there is to know about the movie/idea behind it... Having said that, I'm skeptical about S. Darko. I was wondering if it was good or not (preferably without spending $$$ upfront). [[[note: Anyone who was at Otakon 2008 and saw a movie-replica of Frank the Bunny... that was me ^ - ^']]] anyways... so yeah, for someone who adored the movie, and understood it... is it worth the money? or a disaster to the name Darko?
--thanks for any/all responses in advance ((yes, that means the good AND bad)) [= -
November 22, 2008Hmm. It seems interesting. But who's playing Frank?
I hope it's Justin chatwin. His performance in The Invisible was very Donnie Darko-esque. -
