This time around we are treated to three more (apparently these are actually the first three shorts in the series) stories that are little more then edgy Twilight Zones with an Asian flair. These three all seemed a overly convoluted and as if there was much being "lost in translation". In a more cultural then litteral sense. While each was interesting in it's own wasy. the third installment (Going Home) was by far the most impressive. But even this felt a little OVER developed and unnecessarily convoluted.

Memories had an interesting concept, but was a touch dull while actually watching it, apart from one particular scene which I won't ruin for people who've not viewed it. The Wheel had a lot more going on, but personally I didn't care much for it. The soundtrack was rather effective though. Going Home was probably my favourite of the three, it was both well crafted and unusual. In fact, I'm debating whether to buy the film based entirely on the strength of this short.

The other stories are so-so, but Peter Chan's "Going Home" is a minor masterpiece. Surreal and with a great ironic ending, check it out.

Memories: 2 stars; A fairly dull, pointless 'horror' film. The Wheel: 1 star; Maybe you have to be a part of the culture to understand why this film is 'scary.' Going Home: 4 stars; A really fantastic film. It's not really scary at all, but I don't think that was the point. A very interesting and bizarre story. Highly recommend.
