I thought this would be like "National Treasure", but it wasn't. It was really just Matthew McConaughey running around trying to be a treasure seeker.
Im pretty sure i wasnt suppose to enjoy this movie at all. Is is suppose to be horrible according to reviews but what i found was 2 hours of fun, humor and action. Now that I know this is a book. I think I need to go look them up.
Rather unrealistic this here is. No matter how hard the bad guys try, the bullets simply doesn't hit the targets. But Matthew and co. on the other hand manages to shoot a fucking airborne helicopter with a 100 year old cannon from a shipwreck buried in a desert. Now that's what I call serious film making.
Some of the other things I learnt from this are that Matthew McConaughey is rather annoying and Penelope Cruz's Spanish accent is cute. Meh!
Another McConaughey movie that had potential but kind of lets you down in the end. It had action and adventure and a love interest, but nothing that hadn't been done before. Why does he keep playing the down on his luck treasure hunter?
An absurdly silly eco-adventure thriller with a terribly unfocused plot. Three marine-based adventure-scientists hunt for a missing ironclad in the Sahara desert. Somewhere in the middle, the story disappears off into various dull tangents as they get on the wrong side of the local warlord and end up saving the World from a polluted ocean. Odd.
