it was really long but not in a tiresome way. i found myself always wanting to see what happened next... and the vast background story plus sheer amount of characters involved keeps you interested. most importantly it was creepy which every horror should be but most aren't. it al...( read more)so had some seasoned actors in it such as donald sutherland, james cromwell and rutger hauer. it really kept my attention. i did end up watching it in three installments because of its length but found myself so immersed in it i ended up going to sleep and dreaming about it. certainly worth checking out. if nothing else can be said about this film, then it can be said that it is detailed!

not bad for a tv miniseries

Judging it on its own, and not comparing it to the book or the 1979 TV mini, this really isn't a bad flick -- up to the last ten minutes or so. Then it kinda blows. But for a 3hr movie, that's not a bad ratio.

Not very many decent movies made from Steven King novels. This is one that does stink too much. Wait a minute, haven't seen this version yet. Need to rent.

Excellent, faithful, and scary adaptation of Stephen King's novel with excellent performances from the entire cast. Don't watch it alone or in the dark!
