James Wood is quite accurate in one of Stone's most beloved films - but despite its obvious techinical value and its strong performances, I've never thought it to be all that impressive... even on a historical note.

This is so "not me". I don't like anything about this film, yet I find it compelling. I don't like the generic categories that this film could be described in, but its precise realization, and especially the fast-paced constant talk, captivated me.
