This undeniably gave a new fresh view to the monotonous 'samurai' anime genre. Mixing punk and hip-hop influences, along with parody histories of Japan...
Combined with an extremely intruiging storyline and commandable fight scenes, this is a must-watch!
Samurai Champloo is a brilliant, quirky anime series about a girl on a quest to find the samurai who smells of sunflowers. With her are two "odd couple" warriors who agree to be her bodyguards. The amazing artwork is different from any other anime I've seen and is well supported by strong characters, story and voice talent.
Samurai action, bloody battles and hip-hop!!! A mix that really works too so if you're a fan of Ninja Scroll, Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X or of the samurai genre - check this series out - it's action-packed and funny. Fuu is on a journey searching for a 'samurai who smells like sunflowers' and saves the lives of two men who are in debt to her and go with her on the journey. Jin is a quiet, serious master swordsman while Mugen is a hot-tempered, violent swordsman who incorporates breakdancing with his fighting style to awesome effect. This is a great hybrid of cultures with rapping, graffiti and boomboxes coming hand-in-hand with swordsplay. Definetly an anime worth watching.

If this refers to the anime series, then I am very impressed with it. Almost all the episodes have decent action, although the female characters are annoying as hell again.
Awesome series, a totally worthy follow-up to Cowboy Bebop. At first since I was expecting another Bebop-like adventure I was a little dissapointed, once you get into it there's no turning back. Entertainment at it's best.
Awesome series. While it doesn't have the same high quality thoughout as Cowboy Bebop did (it's by the same team), it's well worth seeing. The whole samurai/hip hop thing works much better than it has any right to.
Now this I understand. Mugen's a jerk, Jin's honorable to a fault, and Fuu's just cute as all hell. Plus swordfighting and historical accuracy, and one of the best soundtracks ever... if you're not sure if you like anime, check this one out. It'll make or break your conceptions.
One of the best anime series i've watched. They had it all.....great action....actual laugh out loud moments....and a few tearjerking scenes. I seriously did not want their journey to end.
