In spite of (or maybe because of) his father's example of the straight and narrow life living as a cop, Kunwar (Ashok Kumar) takes to gambling, drinking and consorting with a sundry of blackguards and thugs. Though his doe-eyed wife (Nalini Jaywant) manages to steer away from a life of sin, Kunwar's past soon catches up with him when his former partner-in-crime pays him an unwelcome visit. After a complex series of incidents, Kunwar manages to escape from jail to vengeance himself against the man who did him wrong.
