On the surface, a cute kids' Christmas film from Mexico. But this has many religious overtones. The Devil whispers in childrens' ears to do bad things; Santa is watching through a telescope from his cloud-castle in the sky and makes note of which kids are good or bad. This is por...( read more)trayed in an authoritative manner, as if the gospel truth; it ends up feeling creepy and exploitative. The production values are cut-rate, adding to the cheese-factor. It's truly laughable and fits into the so-bad-it-becomes-good-category.

LOL. Cheesy movies are always better than boring movies. This is a cheesy movie. There is no God in this film... It's Santa versus that pesky Satan! Pretty bad, but such fun when mocking it

Horrible campy goodness: Santa vs. one of the devil's minions, filmed by someone clearly on acid.

Unlike most people, I like the second one slightly better than this one. However, this is still one of the best holiday films ever made. Tim Allen plays Scott Calvin, a divorced dad who is trying to raise his six-year-old son, Charlie. )Eric Lloyd) His ex-wife, Laura, (Wendy Crew...( read more)son) has a . . . "boyfriend", Neil (Judge Reynolds). Neil wears sweaters, that Scott dislikes. Charlie is the best character in this movie, and six-year-old Eric Lloyd was probably the best child actor his age. "The Santa Clause" is, and remains today, one of the best Christmas movies ever.
