Horrible. The half a star is for Melissa Joan Hart. Without her presence, I would have given this no stars. She was literally the only thing this boring, pointless film had going for it, and even she was only phoning it in. (Not that I can blame her - I would have died of embarrassment at being associated with this too). It makes Sabrina Goes to Rome look like a masterpiece.
I checked it out on IMDB and it is currently rating about 3 stars out of 10 with 68 votes. I think that is fair for this movie too.. perhaps a touch generous.
Acting in this is horrible. It mainly follows Hamilton Van Watts (yeah, too right, "who"?) as Jack Satin, a washed up comedian/singer who skips town to avoid his gambling debts. His car breaks down in a small town and he is forced to stay a little while. He meets the locals, who include an aggressive bar server, an older woman with a drinking problem who takes a liking to him and Lauren, (Melissa Joan Hart), who he slowly becomes involved with. Aside from Lauren, the characters are all two dimensional, cliched, horribly acted and just ugh.
What follows is an hour and a half of tedium, which doesn't even get the happy ending you would have expected. I don't know who I was crosser with, the person responsible for this crap, or myself for sitting there and watching the whole thing. Seriously, do not bother with this. Horrid.
