Note: Every sinner eventually has to come for remission of sins? In "Sauna", it seems so. Nicely done picture, interesting relationship between two main characters; I thought it would go more into horror area, whereas it remained too atmospheric for its own good.

Atmospheric and eerie. Shame about the abrupt ending.

Good acting, nice and fitting visuals, great soundtrack and intriguing storyline.
    An atmospheric european horror.

I guess it's pretty well made but I didn't like it..the movie is a bit weird and not scary at all...

The movie tends to stumbles in a few places because the story isn't as tight as it could be; though I don't need nor want everything explained, and the movie doesn'e either, it'd be nicer to at least know there is more depth to this than what can be detected because it certainly...( read more) aims higher than most horror films. Still, it has great atmosphere, intriguing development of its premise, very two impressive lead performances and an ending that truly scared the shit out of me.

I would like to emphasize that this film is not a usual horror film. It is heavily flooded with symbolism and is mainly for the curiou...( read more)s and those with a fascination for films. I recommend watching this, it really is quite an exprience, historically and experientially.

AJ Annila makes films that are very pretty, but in the end I'm always left wondering what the hell happened. So I watch his movies for the visuals, and because Tommi Eronen and his kicked puppy act get me every time. But I have to wonder why there always has to be someone who use...( read more)s literal speech while everyone else talks like they would in real life?

I was impressed with the visuals in the film, the cinematography and art direction were impressive, as was the atmosphere. It is a little too complex though, the story didn't always hold me interest. The acting is fine.
