  It's "The Satins" versus "The Scars" in this rape-revenge/action-drama which see's the busty Linda Blair lead her all-girl gang in a dangerous tit-for-tat feud with a gang of street punks which descends into rape and murder. It's all very 80s, cheesy and trashy. The rape scene is not as graphic as other that have caused controversy, but it's still an unpleasant viewing which the UK censors have just passed fully uncut. Overall it's really quite enjoyable, especially for fans of 80s movies.

The acting is way over the top, the misogyny is awe inspiring, and the hair is immaculate. If Linda Blair ever had a game, she is certainly at the top of it here. Not for the faint of heart, but if you are a true sadist at heart you must not pass this up.

  Linda Blair was at the height of her 80's trash exploitation fame when she starred in this delectably down and dirty grindhouse epic as Brenda, an over-aged high school "bad girl" senior who's the leader of the tough all-girl gang the Satins. Trouble rears its ugly head when the Satins run afoul of a brutish all-guy street gang called the Scars (led by pockmarked sneering Neanderthal Robert Dryer). These detestable no-count hoodlums not only viciously rape Brenda's innocent deaf mute sister Heather (a very cute and endearing Linnea Quigley), but also toss Brenda's pregnant best gal pal off a bridge to her death. Man, are these guys real nasty customers. But have no fear. After sitting in a bath tub topless and dragging on a cigarette while lost in deep thought, the spunky and resourceful Brenda decks herself out in a clingy skintight leather jumpsuit and breaks out both a crossbow and some bear traps with the specific intent of hunting down and killing the vile subhuman scum. Director Danny Steinmann, who also blessed us with the criminally underrated early 80's psycho slasher gem "The Unseen" and the fifth "Friday the 13th" picture, really pours on the scorching sleaze with this choice chunk of 80's trash cinema. All the correct sensationally scuzzy elements are ripely abundant here: polished production values, a roaring rock score, plentiful graphic violence, profanity-ridden dialogue, a catfight, the expected gratuitous high school girls' gym locker room shower sequence, a harshly drawn-out, explicit and unflinching rape scene, and a generous sprinkling of bare female flesh (besides the luscious Linda and the adorable Linnea, the equally hot Rebecca Perle and Suzee Slater also show us their stuff). Moreover, we also get gleefully hammy overacting from a game cast (John Vernon in particular has himself a rip-snorting ball as the cranky, foul-mouthed high school principal). Overall, "Savage Streets" sizes up as a hugely enjoyable and satisfying serving of topflight tacky and raunchy 80's exploitation action revenge thriller.

  Gloriously trashy. Linda Blair is a terrible actress, but she gives it her all, and though the movie keeps stalling with scenes that have nothing to do with the plot, it always remains a lot of fun.

  There's many things top notch about this film. It's among the last of the exploitation films, and it doesn't really hold too much back. There's viciousness in parts, cheeziness in parts, an incredibly great 80s soundtrack, and acting that works SO well despite itself. It's not as full on Linda Blair kick-ass as the poster implies, but when she goes to kick she kicks hard. There are some misogynistic problems with this film, but it's to be expected with this kind of film. and it's fucking Linda Blair, an early innocent role by Linnea Quigley and character actor John Vernon who's in so many great films, possibly one of the most notable is as the Dean in Animal House.

  Savage Streets stars Linda Blair as a tough high school girl that goes after a bunch of neighborhood thugs that have raped her sister and killed her best friend given them just what they got coming to them.Thats pretty much the whole plot of this 80's trashy cheesy B movie that i found really good and worth a watch for any fan of 80's films like this little slow in some places but the ending more then makes up for whats missing.
