Grace Trevethan (Brenda Blethyn is a cheerful upper-class housewife and gardening enthusiast who is blithefully unaware of business matters. This all changes when she learns that her husband fell from an airplane without a parachute. Her husband's numerous hare-brained schemes at getting rich quick left their accounts in utter ruin. Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"Saving Grace has a lovely Cornish setting and Blethyn to recommend it, but mostly it's a contact mediocre."
‑ Liam Lacey, Globe and Mail
"We're left with a promising idea for a comedy, which arrives at some laughs but never finds its destination."
‑ Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
"[Blethyn] brings great heart to the role of Grace, injecting notes of surprising truth into what is otherwise a pleasantly nutty little film."
‑ Margaret A. McGurk, Cincinnati Enquirer
"In trying too hard to convince us what good eggs his characters are, Cole creates a shapeless, dramatically unengaging movie."
‑ Edward Lawrenson, Sight and Sound
"A Cheech and Chong movie for the art-house crowd."
‑ Jeffrey Westhoff, Northwest Herald (Crystal Lake, IL)
"Blethyn's solid-gold charm turns Saving Grace into a comic high."
‑ Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
"A pleasant little comedy with the soul of one of those old, much loved Ealing pictures of the forties and fifties but overlayed with a coating of Hollywood glitz."
‑ Frank Swietek, One Guy's Opinion
"It's a feel good British movie ideal for gangs of middle-aged, middle-minded women on bored afternoons, and toxically saccharine to anyone else."
‑ Susannah Breslin, Film Threat
"...Saving Grace is charming enough and entertaining enough for me to recommend it."
‑ David Nusair, Reel Film Reviews
"Dejará una agradable sensación de esparcimiento y sana diversión a quien tenga la suerte de realizar un buen 'viaje' de risas y buen humor."
‑ Jorge Avila Andrade, Moviola
"There is nothing profound in this movie, but it shines through so many of this summer's dumb Hollywood comedies like a beacon through a haze of smoke."
‑ Hap Erstein, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
"Grossly overestimates the effects of Marijuana so that it can get the cheap laughs. But it is genuinely and consistently funny"
‑ Brian Mckay, eFilmCritic.com
"It's all fluff with the deeply imbedded message that no matter what happens in life, you have to deal with it and move on."
‑ Ron Wells, Film Threat
"It's a crazy plot, but it works wonderfully, thanks largely to Blethyn's terrific performance."
‑ Jean Lowerison, San Diego Metropolitan
"The premise is a bit far-fetched, but Blethyn makes it fly, etching the timid, provincial character so deftly that her gradual transformation is deliciously funny."
‑ Stephen Farber, Movieline
