While city detectives scramble to locate him, Dr. Lynn Denlon is unaware that she is about to become the latest pawn on his vicious chessboard. One night, after finishing a shift at her hospital, Lynn is kidnapped and taken to an abandoned warehouse where she meets Jigsaw, bedridden and on the verge of death. She is told that she must keep the madman alive for as long as it takes another one of his victims, Jeff, to complete a game of his own. Racing against the ticking clock of Jigsaw's own heartbeat, Lynn and Jeff struggle to make it through each of their vicious tests, unaware that he has a much bigger plan for both of them.

A very gory 3rd installment, better than the second I thought with more twisted 'games'. Reveals a bit more from the first two films as well.

When I went to go see Saw 3 at cinemas, I went with my exboyfriend. My exboyfriend having already seen it wouldn't tell me what happened. But i have to say i'm glad he didn't! I was amazed and grossed out during the whole movie. It certainly is A lot gorier than the previous 2 bu...( read more)t well worth a watch. I would certainly recommend it to gore fans.

The story was well planned out and kicked straight off after the previous saw. The plot was detailed and you didn't know what was going to come next! the characters were well played and the acting was brilliant. Amanda's character has definitely developed from the last film and this definitely stands out. A personal best. Well done LionsGate!

A franchise saved! Saw 2 was horrible but this film really worked! I liked the way it linked in with the first film and explained a few unanswered questions. Not one for people who like their horror films to be on the mindless side! Looking forward to a prosperous line of sequels...( read more) now and hope the inevitable doesn't happen! So far so good!

Like the second one, the third part of the series has nothing new to offer to add to the franchise. More sadistic traps, more wanna-be-surprising plot twists, more guts and blood, but no plot to speak of, no feeling for characters or their intentions. The result is accordingly st...( read more)upid and sadistic, especially the character Amanda is annoying beyond belief. While the film can probably not be blamed for the horribly cut version I saw, something tells me the full edit would have left me just as unsatisfied. If only they never went beyond the really good first movie, which also provides the few interesting scenes for this flick, when parts of the set-up of the initial situation are revealed. But this is merely about making money now, well aware of that, the creators end it with another cliffhanger for the hardcore fans to wait for. What a load of crap. One has to wonder who needs films like that.

Riding on one's laurels is an easy thing to do it would seem, but the reputation of the original Saw can only take you so far.

In this movie, it would seem that Jigsaw starts breaking his own rules. His traps are supposed to be escapable for the victims, but here he puts peop...( read more)le in traps that depend on someone else rescuing them. He's not punishing the right people, and that bothers me about this movie. In that sense, it's a little hypocritical of him to burn his apprentice for breaking his rules when he readily does it himself. Other than that, this premise was pretty interesting.
