I'm happy to say that the sixth Saw isn't actually THAT bad. Besides the first one, I practically hated the four rest, but this one has a plot, suspense and isn't just mindless gore. Of course I wish they had stopped at the first one, but since they continued, this isn't a...( read more)s bad as its predecessors. The ending is great, the death traps set up by Jigsaw to be carried out are brilliant (in a twisted way) and you are actually actively engaged. Of course the movie is still pretty bad and I pray to God there isn't a seventh one, but it's not AS bad as the previous four.

    Saw VI

    Expected: 23 October

One of the very best horror films for a long time, Saw VI really delivers on all fronts. It serves up victims we want to see punished, more history to Jigsaw, more intrigue as Hoffman runs the risk of being found out, and best of all (and I don't apo...( read more)logise for saying this), some fantastic visual horror. The opening sequence had me turning away from the cinema screen, its an achievement that the sixth instalment still has the ability to shock. Midway through, there is a torture carousel scene, which had me glued to the screen, its one of the most effective sequences in the entire series. When the film switched from gore to backstory, it held my attention as more and more pieces of the jigsaw (pun fully intended!) are put into place. Critics will moan that the continued inclusion of Tobin Bell's character is a sign of desperation, but the makers go to great lengths, for the fans, to ground it into the story and I found it compelling.

Roll on many more sequels, if they can match this standard.

Look out for: A surprised twist.

Much more enjoyable and engaging than Saw V. I noticed jabs against corrupt insurance companies and bank loans. A few traps seem rehashed, but I especially liked the merry-go-round trap with six people and a Russian-roulette type of challenge; it was inventive. The abandoned zoo ...( read more)setting was a nice change, but how about some traps involving dangerous animals? The flashbacks had more relevance this time around, and provided much-needed answers. Again, I didn't predict the twist at the end. The end left open new questions for a possible Saw VII. With Jigsaw's work finished, where will the story go next?

Yes, I saw this. I get pulled to this movie every Halloween. It's become quite a tradition, and it doesn't seem to be letting up anytime soon. I found the first one to actually be quite interesting, as it was more than just a gore fest, but actually had a unique premise with h...( read more)umans faced with dilemmas for their actions that could either kill them or maim them. From there, it constantly went downhill; however, I must say this one actually was just a tad better than 2, 3, 4, 5. Although I usually don't like today's political agendas too much in my entertainment, having the head of an insurance company and some shady creditors have to try and survive Jigsaws latest sadistic gadgets made this movie a little more tolerable. I do hope that this series fades away soon, as I want to start a new and improved tradition on Halloween.

Nick Schager, Slant Magazine

Saw VI plays like the last gasp for relevance of a heavy-metal series that has not only gone regurgitation-rusty but seems lacking much of a will to live. full review

I do not understand why this so-called saga is that popular. It's nothing but "i want to make you sick" movies. The great thing with this one is that the director managed to make it a real thriller again even if it is way under the first one's greatness.

This is directly pointed at the head of morpheous one!, how can u judge the saw series or franchise when a)u havnt seen it, b)its done so freakin well, c)was created by small aussies who are now practically legends and finally the fact that ur name is morpheous one, i mean dnt get me wrong the matrix series was awesome in its own right but the saw series kicks the shite out of the matrix, has better story, better twists, more suspence, do i have to keep going. To call these movies overrated trash is totally out of line, especially calling people who love the saw series stupid trash loving losers who need to wake the fuck up!, I personally think, (know), that saw is a pioneer and revolutionary,( on and off its field), so, morpheous one!, lets keep ur identity a secret bcos if i ever see u, (or the huddled masses that take offence to ur ranting antics) in the street, i will personally make it my business to show u that u r wrong.
    P.S SAW RULES!

I agree that the franchise has been dragged too far now. I have seen Saw 1 and 2 recantly and did enjoy both as they were the most intelligent horror films I have seen in years - But even then, it should have ended at 4.

Twisted Pictures BEWARE! Freddy Kreuger BOMBED as the franchise went too far and it became a total parody of itself... (Elm Street 6 with its desperate attempts at 3D was just abysmal!!!) - SAW may well go the same way.

What I have seen of the Trailer so far - I feel its now becoming a gorefest and losing its intellect...

I will watch and review as soon as I can... BUt I do feel that its begining to lose its shine
