    Scarface is one of the finest films ever made. Al Pacino made this film exactly what it could be and ran with the story so well. His performace in this movie is awe-inspiring and I believed throughout that he could actually be Tony Montana.     remastered both visual and audio for the big screen revisit and wow it's awesome!!!

    not being old enough to see this first time round,it was great to see a great classic and one of the greatest gangster films ever-made on the big screen.

    I loveeee scarface i can watch it over and over,,,it shows sruggles and how he made something of his life even if it was wrong,,,but there was a price to be paid which lead to his death at the end. Great movie!

    Plot:
    After years of diplomatic silence between the United States and Cuba, Castro opens the port of Mariel Harbor, Cuba, to thousands emmigrating to the United States in search of the American dream. Shrewdly, Castro also unlocks the overpacked prisons, allowing hordes of criminals to join the refugees. Tony Montana, a small time hood, is one of them. In Florida, Montana connects with gangster Frank Lopez, and guns his way through the sun washed streets of Miami where he finds power, wealth and passion. He kills Lopez and marries his mistress, Elvira. Montana, better known as "Scarface," soon becomes the leader of a bloody cocaine-smuggling empire but at a terrible cost to his sister, Gina and his loyal friend, Manny. However, like that of others before him, Montana's reign is brief and a violent end is guaranteed as rival gangster compete to become the next drug lord.

    Review:
    No movie has made a massive impact on myself like Scarface when i first saw it back in 2004.This is absolutely one of the greatest movies of all time and one of my personal favorites actually.Based on the 1932 gangster movie with the same name and directed by Howard Hawks,this version is even more violent and updated but briliantly directed by Brian DePalma with a intense script by Oliver Stone.Scarface is simply phenomenal and one of the greatest classics of gangster movies.

    Al Pacino delivers a amazing and oustanding perfomance as the ruthless and psychotic cuban gangster Tony Montana which according to Pacino,he was inspired from the original version.Tony Montana is one of the coolest and bad ass movie characters of all time because he´s very honest and loyal to his balls and word but his greed takes him to extreme actions that could make his own destruction.Pacino was phenomenal in the movie and perhaps the role is the most popular role of his career.Not a bad debut for Michelle Pheiffer.She was bloody gorgeous but i still prefer her in Batman Returns.One of the actors i liked the most was Paul Shenar as Alejandro Soza.What i like about Soza is that he´s a respectable buissenessman but he´s one relentess bastard if some one tries to double cross him.One of the scenes that i don t like at all is when Tony kills his best friend Manny right in front of her sister.I mean is shocking because i would never kill my best friend.

    Brian DePalma is one of the greatest directors ever.His technique of filmmaking reminded me of Sergio Leone´s style specially in the close ups to the character´s face but he created a one hell of a epic gangster movie just like the Untouchables.25 years after the release,Scarface changed the culture forever and inspired a lot of hip hop stars to do whatever it takes to get to the top.

    One of the greatest movies of all time,Scarface taught me a very important lesson:The World is Yours.A oustanding masterpiece of cinema that will live on forever in the history of cinema.

    I don't see whats so special about this movie. Yes, the acting is good, but the lack of realism and the skips in the plot spoiled the movie for me. It gets 3 stars only for being a classic !

    Al Pacino goes way over the top with his performance as Tony Montana in this Hollywood favorite cult classic based on Howard Hawks even-better masterpiece. This version somewhat missed the point with its particularly racist adaptation and drastically different setting, the langua...( read more)ge spoken is distracting and is rather a very small insult towards the mafia films. The World is Yours indeed, but DePalma going over the top isn't particularly a good sign of masterful filmmaking, but just talent in the entertainment department. A great leading performance, the plot management, some parts of the screenplay (omitting those copied from the original film), cool one-liners and a breathtaking climax save this film.
