"Scarlett" was alright if you judge the movie on it's own, & not compare it to "Gone With the Wind". It pales in comparison.
I did not care for Timothy Dalton as Rhett, although Clark Gable's shoes are difficult,if not impossible ones to fill!
Joanne Whalley was no Vivien Leigh either, although I felt she was a better replacement than Dalton.
The movie does have some nice scenery in Ireland where Scarlett travels to meet her ancestors (the O'Hara's)
I recommend you rent this movie only if you do NOT have expectations of it being anything similar to the original.
If you are a younger gender,& have never seen "Gone With The Wind",them you won't be disappointed.
I must admit, I did end up purchasing it,& have watched it several times.
It seems to be more believable watching Dalton,& Whalley in Gable,& Leigh's roles the more often I watch it.
