he he - get rid of shaggy and scooby and the stupid monsters this film would be great! I like the colourful costmes. I'd so dress like that if I though I wasn't genna be beaten up...
Every few minutes I asked myself why I was watching this but I stuck at it to see if perhaps it was going somewhere. Wasn't a big fan of the Scooby Doo cartoon so i should've given this a miss. Leave it for the 5 year olds!
I've never been a big Scooby fan, but even I was offended by the way the characters were portrayed in this sham of a movie. It seems to me that the filmmakers harbored a genuine, condescending contempt for the cartoon show, and went out of their way to make the most disrespectful, most irreverent adaptation they could, complete with a slutty Daphne, an arrogant Fred, and a monstrous Scrappy Doo as the villain.
Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar and Matthew Lillard head up a cast with a CGI dog in this crime caper set on a spooky island. The canine crime fighter and his young adult friends jump onto the movie screen in this cute but often silly adaptation of the hit Hannah Barbera C\cartoon. The Cartoon Network brought it all back with new stories, and the WB guy decided to go from TV movies to an actual live action flick. A spooky amusement park appears to be haunted and the team spring into action.
Very good film but acting in this film particularly from Freddie Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar were absolutely terrible. Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini were pretty good as Shaggy and Vilma.
Brings back memories, this film does. Memories of sitting alone in my bedroom watching it again and again as it's such a great film. Scooby Doo is GREAT! Love the film remakes much better than the cartoon TV series.
Even though this movie spawned a sequal it wasn't really all the great. It wasn't bad though either. I actually liked it quite a bit but it could have been better. The first time I seen the movie I was a bit sceptical because I either didn't know or didn't like any of the actors that where in it. Now that I watched again and again I come to like the actors. Sure Matt Lilliard didnt do the best impression. It was still really good. The one thing I didnt like was how much different they where in this movie then in the cartoon. I hate it when movies change so much of the original.
Mystery Inc. is arging when they splits up as Shaggy (Matthew Lillard) & Scooby (Neil Fnning) take care of Mystery Machine. They're reunited to invited @ Spooky Island, a "frightfully" popular theme park owned by Emile Mondavarious (Rowan Atkinson) Shaggy falls for a girl named Mary Jane (Isla Fisher). Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar) discovers an odd item called the Daemon Ritus?; a magical artifact that absorbs energy, particularly souls will exposed to sunlight. The gangs are go on investigation something going on the Spooky Island. Velma & Fred discover that Mondavarious is a robot is actually Scooby's nephew, Scrappy-Doo, who is the 'real' main villain wants to get revenge on Mystery Inc.. who abandoned him in 1988.
Surprisingly good. I used to have this on VHS and tried to watch it every day. I think I got to about 8 days. Maybe I shouldn't be telling people this...
Matthew Lillard does a truly impressive Shaggy, but some of the CG was a bit lame. points for Rowan Atkinson! very entertaining overall... and i should know since i've been made to watch it 50 times (and counting). ;)
Scooby Doo is great and this movie does a good job to do that, the casting is very good and so is the live action scooby doo. Love It...good storyline and rather funny
Concerned that hisway cool theme park might truly be haunted, Spooky Island owner Emile Mondavarious tries to reunite those notoriously meddling detectives to solve he mystery before his supernatural secert scares away the ollege crowds.
ermmn i have not seen this in ages but i can remember bits n pieces of this movie...i think that Matthew Lillard, who is the adenoidal beatnik Shaggy is my favourite character in both the tv shows n movies but imn not sure which is better this or the 2nd 1 because they are both so funny throughout...this is a good cast of actors/actressess throughout the movie..i think that the director does a good job of directing throughout because the director keeps the viweres on the edges of your seats throughout the movies because they are both quite good movies 2 watch throughout
Ok i really wasn't interested in seeing this but just stubbled and ended up watching it... and it was better than i thought it would be ideal for kids and if u were a fan of the cartoons as a kid then this is tounge in cheek and knows that it is a daft film but doesn't try to be more. Matthew Lillard was born to play shaggy tho
This tounge in cheeck movie version of the popular saturday morning toon reunites the Mystery Inc Gang to solve a mystery of Zombie teens at a popular Amusement park. the movie is alot of fun and has really good special effects. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddy Prince Junior star together as Fred and Daphne
Yes, the film is stupid. Yes, the film is corny. No, the acting is not on par. No, the film really isn't brilliant. But yes, I do happen to like it, and I'm not ashamed to admit it!
loved it. i like daphne the way she thinks she can handle everything but ends up in trouble. but then proves to everyone that she can take care of herself.
This was a pretty good film, and they couldn't have picked better people to play the gang. If you were a fan of the cartoon series you won't be disappointed, as it's fun & has a good story.
I've seen this movie so many times. But no matter how many times I watch it. It still mangers to make me laugh. I love all the characters in the movie. They all do their own part to solve the mystery. Fred is...Daphine is the pretty cool fighting chick, Velma is the smart girl and Shaggy and Scooby-Doo are the fast runners who chicken out on everything. This movie has different genres of film in it. My favourite part would probably have to be the part when Fred got into Daphine's body and he started checking Daphine's body out.
