I appreciated the gore and the brutal action. However, there's so much more that could have been explored with the evolving Screamers and their potential to mimic humanity.

A squad of Alliance soldiers are sent to Sirius B to investigate a distress signal and rescue colonial survivors from the latest generation of robotic assassins. The Hunting is one of those films which perplex me as to why they exist at all; quite why a minor 90s B-movie warranted a sequel I don't know. And although the original Screamers may have "borrowed" some ideas from Aliens, The Hunting is about as shameless as Paris Hilton on a tequila and nose candy binge (Hell, even Bishop makes a cameo appearance). It does manage to build on the original idea providing improved effects and better narrative momentum and is a perfectly serviceable sci-fi B-movie itself despite once again featuring no familiar faces (apart from Jana Palaske, whose resemblance to Scarlett Johanssen is almost spooky...) and the fact that the ending is even more ridiculous than the original. A decent enough diversion but given the choice between watching this and the REAL Aliens for the umpteenth time there's only one real choice.

This is a fairly good sci-fi movie about a disagreement between some earthlings and machines called 'Screamers'.

As I like to call it...Tremors in space hehe. Decent follow up to the decent original, plenty of really nice gorey effects which actually look nice and not cheesey. The story is good but it does tend to go slightly over the top as you get more into the film, fusion with humans is not an original concept and you do get the impression that Terminator, Species, Virus amongst others had an influence on the plot. The ending is cool but Im getting the feeling that there could be more poorer sequels.
The inclusion of Henriksen gives the film a nice lift, he's always so cool :)

And yet another sequel no one asked for.
Some nice squishy moments and a pleasent yet way too brief appearance from Lance Henriksen but there's nothing else going on here in this half-step-up-from-a-Sci-Fi-Original-Movie-of-the-Week movie.

Nothing special, fairly predictable, standard scifi/horror on a low budget. It sets itself up for another sequel, which also amazes me.

A big fan of the first movie. So heading into this was not good.Couple of nice touches but falls flat because of its low budget and direct to video status. But there you go a sequel to a 14 year old movie can not be good and it was'nt!!

The sci-fi/horror film Screamers: The Hunting continues the adventure and takes the series in a new direction. The story follows a military rescue ship that is sent to the mining planet Sirius 6B in response to a distress signal, and arrives to find a group of civilians embattled with a new cyborg variety of Screamer intent on exterminating all life. The acting is pretty mediocre, except for a cameo from Lance Henriksen. However, the special effects are fairly good for a B-movie, though some the CGI use is rather apparent. Screamers: The Hunting brings a new level of terror to the series and delivers an entertaining film with some good thrills.

This movie should have been called Screamers the Huntening because that would be about the right level of cheese. Sci-fi shouldn't just be tech-jargon words strung together by pseudo soldiers with very little common sense or meaning.

This sequel to for some a little known movie called *Screamers* follows the story of a group of humans sent on a rescue mission after a signal is sent out from Sirius 6-B a planet long since believed to be deserted since the first batch of screamers were destroyed once there they find themselves face to face with a group of people trying hard to stay alive over the years but what they also find themselves face to face with is a new threat it seems the screamers have now adapted into human form. For fans of the orignal i dont believe this can be a let down it has all the elements of the first gore action and that B movie feel for others its not good or bad just lands somewhere right in the middle.

Here's an interesting take on the futuristic sci-fi field about a forgotten planet, a scouting group, and some cool, killing machinery called 'Screamers'. Good story plot, a bit rushed but nonetheless quite interesting. Filled with tons of action scenes and much gore.… More
