Great space/western...Brilliant script and a bunch of good actors mixed with some nicelooking effects makes this the best sci/fi movie since Star Wars (Episode-4)
One of my favorites. To get the most out of it, you should see the series "Firefly" first, but it's not necessary. The 14 episodes are available on DVD.
The perfect blend of sci-fi, humor and action. I loved this movie from top to bottom. Nathan Fillion should be the next Harrison Ford (but with more personality). I wish the show was still on - or that this movie did well enough in the box office to see some more of the Serenity crew!! This should've beaten out Star Wars ep 3 for attention this past summer - Lucas can't touch this movie in brilliance!
OMG. sooo not my type of movie. I mean, it was alright ... but the plot really wasnt developped enough and the special effects sucked.. and the acting... well lets just say there's a reason they're TV actors.
This movie adds so much back and continuing story to a series that died way too young. See the series (it's on DVD, people) then see this. You can thank me later.
The secret of this form of hair removal treatment is the fact that the lasers with the help of light energy beams thermally agitate the base of your hair follicles and destabilize it without physically ever impacting your skin. And since it's a highly concentrated focused beam, the accuracy and effect are greatly accentuated to the target area of hair removal. In just a few treatments lasting from under 5 minutes to up to a maximum of an hour, you can experience a technology that not only gives you a permanent hair removal solution but one which also promises to effect a quick painless hair removal.
I have to agree with mattyt4 here. I was a very big fan of Firefly, but Serenity wasn't quite up to scratch. It had a sense of finality to it, with the events occuring in the movie leaving no real chance of a second season.
Ultimately it had far too much to explain for it's fans in too short a time. I enjoyed this movie and will watch it numerous times again, but I would be happy for Joss Whedon to pretend it never happened to pick up Firefly where the original series left off.
I like this because it's so quirky. I mean, essentially it's a science fiction-comedy-cowboy-war flick, and how can you explain that? Just watch it (although you may want to watch the TV series first so you have an idea of what on earth is going on!)
I *loved* Firefly. The movie, while entertaining, is flawed and isn't in the same league. If you haven't seen the film watch the series first to better understand the characters. Good but disappointing.
Serenity is a great film for Firefly fans because of the history they have with the characters. However, it was made in such a way that someone could enjoy it without ever seeing the show. It answered the prayers of many, many Browncoats out there and didn't disappoint.
Set some months after events on his series 'Firefly', Joss Whedon picks up the story for the big screen transition. The outlandish protagonists are vivid, the antagonists atypical (Chiwetel Ejiofor especially). It's fun and emotionally engaging, much of what the new Star Wars trilogy missed.
If you saw the TV show and loved it, you will cream your pants at this movie. Action packed all the way and explains SOOOO many things that were not in the show due to it sadly being suddenly discontinued.
