I was a big fan of the "barely a series" Firefly, so I was pleased they did a movie. I only wish they made the series last, though. It's absolutely watchable. Just one more example of how TV network executives are clueless to what the viewers want.
Watched this for the second time yesterday and understood much more of the plot this time round. I have to say the action in this movie is really fantastic.
Film correct, mais réalisé un peut trop de façon série télé. Le film offre quelques clin d'oeils intéresants à Star Wars et à la matrice. Pour mieux apprécier le film il faut peut être avoir vu la série Firefly surtout pour le lien entre les personnages.
Amazing flick. Funny, heavy on the action in a good way, and just plain well made. I finally watched Firefly and I loved it as well. I must say, watching Firefly first would make this film all the more enjoyable.
Considering that I never even knew the show exsisted, then saw this movie, I thought it was really genius. It's really too bad the show was cancelled so soon.
I never saw the TV show version but they did a good job of making this film appeal to those who don't know it. I found it interesting and sweet at times too.
one of the best sci-fi films of the last 5 years. such wonderful characters, brilliant diologue & one liners, lots of action
one of the best things about it is that you can tell its written & directed by joss whedon the best buffy episodes were the ones that were written/directed by him
this feels like a really good buffy or angel episode
A brilliant, witty and quirky film. Watch it...and while you're at it, check out the why-the-hell-was-this-cancelled? TV series, "Firefly". Joss Whedon - I love you, man!
One of the best movies ever! I have no complaints. And I'm not biased because I watched Firefly after seeing this movie. The story is awesome (Joss Whedon is a freaking genius, no surprise) the characters are so likable and the special effects are terrific! I can't believe Nathan Fillion isn't super duper famous. Seriously, he kicks all sorts of ass. So beyond wonderful!
Never seen the series (or had even heard about it until film). This is a great film, the whole concept of centre/periphery is as good as any film out there, especially the dangers of hierarchical institutes. Should be considered a great sci-fi up there with the best. Hopefully will stand the test of time.
Whedon rules! I can't believe I've never seen a minute of Firefly or Serenity. But that's all about to change now that my friend Dwayne's lent me his season DVDs. Now I just have to make time to watch them.
How do I love thee, let me count the ways...Oh Joss Whedon, your characters endear themselves to me and I love you for that. Everyone should see this but more importantly watch the series "Firefly" first.
As time goes on and I catch up on all the TV episodes, I find more and more genius hidden in this gem. This is one of the few movies that I enjoy watching over and over.
A wonderful send off for such an underated television series. Joss Whedon is simply a genius for coming up with such a talented group of actors to play his version of a spaghetti cowboy story in space! Brilliant!
I bloody love this film! The tv series this was made from is my favorite tv series ever, but they only made 14 goddamn episodes :( i cant believe wash dies, he was easily my favorite character, hes hilarious and I bloody love him!
Very nice Movie, but feels like what it is, a finale to the TV series. Well produced, but it still fails to let newcomers to the universe of Serenity/Firefly to fully understand and appreciate this excellent SciFi movie/Series
