I felt the film version of SATC was a mistake. The show was pretty good and I enjoyed it but the film version takes away all of its foundations and undoes so much great work. They wanted the film to be bigger and better but they forgot about the heart of the show, the characters!...( read more) It breaks down like this; Steve would never cheat, Stanford & Anthony would never get it on together, Carrie would never have that kind of wedding and Big is not that stupid! I would like to see a sequel but only if it?s all about Samantha, the only person worth watching. That's not to say the other actors aren't good, they just didn't get their fair share this time!

This is the best movie I'd seen last year. It's perfect for all SATC fans - the girls are back together 4 years later. There's lots of drama - wedding, affair, baby. Lots of fab shoes and clothes. Makes you appreciate your loved ones and friends. Even if you haven't seen the TV s...( read more)eries it is still a great movie about love, labels and friendships. Good cast and plot. I'd marry Big for that closet! Charlotte is my favourite character, she is adorable.

Bottom line: a provocative, groundbreaking TV series that worked in 30-minute segments has been bloated and padded into nearly two and a half hours of tedium and gratuitous product placement for everything from Vuitton to a new Mercedes-Benz GLK. King's attempt at "racial balance...( read more)" pathetically backfires but at least proves useful in putting the show's inherently materialistic and supremacist ethos into sharper focus. There is something depressingly stunted about this film; something desperate too. I hate myself a little bit for wasting two and a half hours of my life watching this. I know, why did I watch it then? I rarely see my sister, and she's a devotee of the show. And guess what, she didn't particularly like it, either.

Two words: CHICK FLICK. I'm sure there is some fluff entertainment value for fans of the show. There are times when the writing is surprisingly really witty, and other times when I became invested in the characters and what they were going through. However, there were also a l...( read more)ot of times where I was overwhelmed by the sheer superficiality of the overall film. Not to mention that it felt at many points like a two and a half hour ad for Apple. It has its moments, but for me, I now understand how my girlfriend felt when I made her watch Rambo in the theatre.
