Ahh, AWESOME! Ok ok, if you haven;t seen the series please watch this movie. It recaps everything(Yes it is a recap movie!). It has a little continuation(Does not have the end of the Anime when in Shinji's mind.). Very awesome. However if you have seen the series you may want to skip to the next movie "The End Of Eva" because that has the continuation plus the conclusion to the continuation. This movie only has recap then a little of the continuation before it To Be Continues. So, good movie.
Although it was a re-telling, t'was a pretty good one, considering. The music fitted perfectly, and I liked the little intervals where the children were playing the violins. Had a few new scenes, but nothing new that weren't on the DVDs'.
The movie which compliments the tv-series. Death; A montage of scenes from the original series, followed by Rebirth, which begins where the series left off, this is something all Neon Genesis fans will want to see.
I think they cut bit segments out of a 50-some episode series and glued them together to pose as a movie. It only makes me want to watch the series, as a movie its just bad.
zomg I loved it...altho at the end I got mad cuz they just stood there for like 5 min. before he finally killed the him...and why did he smile at Rei like that? And how did Rei get down there anyways??? >.<;
Didn't really see the point in these films at all. It's just a glorified recap of the series and the first thirty minutes of "The End". Don't waste your time and just watch "The end of Evangelion." instead.
Besides the two or three new scenes in the series recap, this movie was completely pointles, your best just skipping it, watch the first part for a recap of the series, but don't bother with the "Rebirth" part as it's just the first part of the second movie. What a waste of my time.
Pelicula cuya primera mitad resume todo sobre la serie de Neon Genesis Evangelion, en la segunda mitad se incluye 40 minutos de material nuevo sobre el verdadero final de la serie que ha puesto en duda la creencia asiatico
I love Evangelion, but I don't love recycled rehashes of the same footage packaged as new material. Love the title "Death & Rebirth", though. And that cover.
A crazy, twisted, and amazing anime tale about teenage children whose lives (and mankind) lay in the hands of themselves and an organization which have created robots to destroy alien creatures set on taking over the world.
Like I could have given it any other rating but a 5. Evangelion still presents me with confusion, which is why I find it so fascinating. I keep coming back every year to watch the series and the movie and each time I find something new, which either makes things easier to understand or, in some cases, screws up everything I once thought I knew about the series.
Don't bother. From what I can tell the first half is an attempt to pack the entire series into an hour as a catch up. It doesn't really work, because I still hardly had any idea what was going on, and if you've watched the series you'll surely be a bit bored. and the second part is repeated in the 'End of Evangelion' film anyway.
Death and Rebirth is very fast paced, for crying out loud, they packed like ten hours into one and a half. I still prefer to sit and watch the serise in its entirety, but it was good none the less.
this is a gd anime film from the most framors anime series ever develope which is neon genesis but it was very confuses but the animtion and effcts will brillrent Hideaki Anno has show us anotrher view of his frame sereis
the anime that will put your faith in question .. although it is sci fi, but the story itself uses Christianity as its background .. IMO, its the best, you won't find the likes of this anywhere anymore !
