The idea of mixing X-Men with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is actually pretty fantastic and the first hour is full of beautiful landscapes, great fights and interesting hero characters. Sadly, the ending and solution is somewhat disappointing. This had the potential to be a lot...( read more) better, but the fun fights and the gorgeous cinematography still make this worth seeing for fans of the genre.

One of the best films I saw in Toronto. It is like a good version of "X-Men" meets "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon." The acting is well done and the "super powers" of these ninjas are wicked as hell.

The special effect totally caught me off guard with how good they are. I wa...( read more)s pleasantly surprised to see the greatness.

THe final scene is super powerful and very telling. Can't wait to see this one again.

A Japanese fairy tale with excellent visuals and an interesting, if underdeveloped story. Not at the same level with Zhang Yimou or Ang Lee's WuXias, but still, pretty amazing. All throughout the film I was somewhat torn between how good the film was and how it COULD have been. T...( read more)here are a few flops that can't be overlooked, still, after a certain point, it won't matter that much.

The only thing I really had a problem with was the ending, which felt like a quick wrap-up, and by no means like a true conclusion.

With those amendaments, the film is definitely worth some attention, especially if, like myself, you are a lover of the Japanese culture.

Gave this film a 7/10. I stumbled across it recently having never heard of it before. When I seen the trailer I was foolishly expecting something on the same level as House of Flying Daggers. Shinobi is a good and very scenic movie with some good effects but the storyline didn't ...( read more)feel like it had much debpth nor did it last long. Characters seemed to get killed off way too soon aswell.

Great action, characters, and art direction but way too generic a storyline. Lots of potential but still entertaining.
