Pointless and dull. Can hollywood stop making J horror remakes there getting thin. All j-horror movies feel the same and is always a ghost story. So if you like that then you like this if you are bored of those story stay away.

Shutter starring Joshua Jackson & Rachael Taylor is another creepy ghost story like The Grudge. A girl dies and creepy things happen to the young couple and the people around them. Messages are trying to be sent but of what exactly??....a good movie.

A pretty decent effort of a remake of the original Thai film. It compares well and the scenes are very similar, but the Thai version was more jumpy and creepy for me. Though that could be partly put down to knowing what was coming. The imagery of the ghost girl is no way as scary... ...( read more )

This is a piss poor attempt and copying a great Asian film I love the Thai Original its sooh creapy this one doesn't even come close to freaking anyone out and I didn't like how they managed to make the most shocking scene's in the original totally lame!! Crap!!

November 14, 2008Shutter was an ok movie, some parts were really freaky looking but then, it wasnt really what i expected, but still it was cool.

November 14, 2008The thing is though. The original horror movies like Shutter, Grudge, The Ring, The Eye etc. There all getting boring aswell. It's always the same story line. Asain woman haunts some people. Then we get a remake that's the same and boring aswell.

August 22, 2008Wasn't Scarey like the Grudge... Hard time focusing on anything but Racheal Taylor, wow she's gorgeous! Decent movie, not too exciting. Don't go out of your way... ;-) Enjoy.

August 19, 2008Decent enough, I think at this point the creepy dead japanese woman/or dead girl with greasy black hair coming back for revenge themed horror flicks should be laid to rest. This film was decent enough, but, it can easily be compared to the Grudges 1 & 2, I know what you did last summer, Stir of Echoes, and many other films.

my review (and house of flesh promotion) of this film was actually for the original 2004 asian film "Shutter (they are among us)", and at the time I was under the impression that it was a theatrical new release in 2008 overseas, and not even aware that it had been "western-ized" or that 2 versions even existed
other than that
I'm sure this "remake" IS as terrible as people say,
and like the posters below me state; after seeing the original film you really wouldn't give a shit about any attempt by hollywood to pitifully re-create something that was originally a brilliant foreign horror film to begin with
I'll watch this only under the most extreme circumstances of sheer boredom after seeing the theatrical trailer, and its predecessor
(which I highly recommend)
