Cynic that I am, I don't buy into ghost stories. I only rented this for the intriguing cast, Joshua Jackson and Rachael Taylor, two great young performers who do the best they can with such material. The story is ludicrous. The production design is rather nice, the sets and costu...( read more)mes were at least something to look at while my brain went numb watching the mess of a script unfold. These actors can do better.

Very freaking film about the law's of karma.

This was a movie that I thought had some potential. I would have liked the way the story line weaved into the TWIST of the ending, except that it was so predictable, you could see it coming a mile away. I know Joshua Jackson could have pulled out a better performance than what he...( read more) did. But the problem with the potential of a movie, is that if certain things are done wrong, it will really go wrong. There were some tense scenes and there were some scenes of creepiness, but it wasn't capitalized on and this became another boring Asian remake.

  • October 14, 2009
Not bad...not good either. This movie had the potential to be better than what it was. The idea was in the right place, but unfortunately did not deliver in what could have been some really frightening moments. The movie had it's creepy moments...but there was something missing. ...( read more)Kind of Grudge-like, but not as scary. The Grudge is still waaay scarier.

This was extremely interesting. I never saw the original, but I did think this was quite enjoyable. I actually just bought this movie too.

I got scared by this because I was alone in the cinema while watching it. When I rented it a year later and saw it again, it was so dull. It's not scary and even though the concept is good, the execution could have been much better. There is a twist at the end which is good.

Like all remakes, the directers seem to either make a similiar film, but with upgraded CGI or make an entirely different film altogether using the same format. We have the difference here with subtle scenes from the original. Most of the time, it's a bad thing, but I found it gre...( read more)at here. It's like entirely two different movies. Here we have the central character being the girl rather than the guy in the original. They also seem to delve into the characters more, like the friends, for instance. We see them play a major role here. Where as, in the original they gave little remarks on their suicides, here we find them actually doing the deed. At least they kept this film in Asia rather than bring it to another country. The ghost girl also isn't as scary as the original. Where she looked almost to the point of rotting in the first, she looks normal here. I found myself smitten with her as well. I wouldn't mind for her to haunt me. We still have the unexpected jump scenes here, but they're not as prominent like in the original. I'm also not to keen on Joshua Jackson. I found his performance rather stale in comparison to the original character. The remake of Shutter still holds it's own and should be a welcomed treat to any ghost enthusiast. I'd say to watch both films because they're two entirely differents scares.

This film was very slippery. Everytime I thought I had it figured out there were more twist. Really good.

Zapravo i nije takvo tesko razocaranje kao sta su ga ostali opisali. Sva sreca da nisu usrali kraj kao sto biva sa modernim hororcima. Joshua mi je simpa u ovom filmu :)

  • August 27, 2009
Great movie. I actually thought it would be pretty bad, but it was really good. Not too long either. The ending was really good too, and freaky if you think about it actually happening. Seen it twice, this time with my sister.

This horror movie is totally rock, but I like the original one, the Japanese Version.

  • August 24, 2009
No one else in my family liked this one but i found it very interesting...it was pretty good..
  • August 23, 2009
Considered a little crazy for being into sleeping pills, Nagumi committed suicide haunting the surviving that wrecked her once while she was still living. The Jap?s intense emotions, like earthbound souls, are captured in rolls of films. Shutter was spooky!
  • August 21, 2009
Not bad for Japaneese horror and i think all of us ladies agree the jerk got what was coming to him.
  • August 21, 2009

  • August 16, 2009
Absolutely THE gayest preview ive ever seen; if its anything like what it looks like then its really stupid. it looks like they wanna see how many movies they can rip-off with this..
  • August 16, 2009
some parts are kinda boring but pretty good
  • August 11, 2009
I kind of wanted to see this.
  • August 10, 2009
Highly predictable and the ending just cracked me up though I'm pretty sure that wasn't the movie director's goal. Nowadays theres just no such thing as a real horror movie
  • August 10, 2009
