It's not a stupid question. I wondered the same thing when I first saw it. I don't think they ever left Silent Hill and, like you said, ended up trapped there. -
March 31, 2007i really like this movie the only part i really dont get is when the mom and little girl get home.. are they ghosts? did they die there? are they trapped in a diffrent dimension? i know most people will think this is a stupid question but i would really like to know! thanks bunches!

January 23, 2007There is going to be a sequel by the same writer, Roger Avary after he adapts Driver. Gans, SH director, may not direct for sure but will be attatched closely to the sequel. I hope they don't just base it on one of the games, hope its a new story all together that way everyone will be in for a surprise. Although, I wish there would be a movie based on Silent Hill 4: The Room, a movie separate from the series. SH4 only has minor connections to the town and none to the previous games.(Rose and Sharon did not die in the movie, they are stuck in the alternate dimension which expanded, if that's what you want to call it. The rest of the ending is surely deliberately left to interpretation)

December 22, 2006I heard they're not gonna make a sequel. Apparently the reason they're still in a different dimension to sean bean's character is because they're actually dead and died in the car accident or something and all the surviving residents of silent hill are dead through the whole thing. I'm not sure whether to believe that or not, they could definately make a sequel and they shouldn't be dead if it's adapted from the game because the game is all different dimensions and stuff, it just wouldn't be true to the game

December 17, 2006I don't really get the ending, anyone wanna explain it to me? It really left room for a sequel and you can totally tell it's based on a PS game..if there's going to be a silent hill 2 I hope they get on with it!:)

But I suppose if I didnt know the games, I would have liked it more...and understood it less..
Though it was great to see some of the SH characters live (Like Cybil and Lisa)
The ending made me depressed though.
I dont know why...I just wanted more...I guess.

September 19, 2006awesome film, Its not just a horror film, Its psychological. It doesn't just reach you on the fear level, It really makes you think. I've seen this film 4 times so far and every time it still manages to gross me out or scare me.
the problem is, people go in there expecting to see some slasher movie, with no knowledge of the games (especially 1 & 2) and then don't understand the plot, therefore annoncing it's crap. Its a really good film, but if you don't understand the ending, you've got no hope in hell of enjoying the whole of the film to the fullest.

September 17, 2006really great i found this movie well done ,cause as the game is, the story goes slowly to a paranormal world where this mysterious town begins to reveal all its horror side.
Its one of the best horror movie ive seen since a while. -
September 16, 2006The plot and underlying story was interesting enough... but beyond that, this movie has nothing going for it. The actors aren't being used to their full potental, alot of sthe story line made no sense, and I was left wondering, how the bloody hell did they manage to get stuck an another dimention?

This is NO adaptation of the video game and is filled withh more propaganda tha carter has liver pills. seriously, if you are a fan of the game do not see this movie, and if you are a fan of the movie, get the real experiance and buy the game -
September 6, 2006I was preying for this crap to end for the last 30 minutes. It's safe to presume that 2 types of films will be terrible, remakes and those based on video games. This doesn't go against that rule. People doing things in the film that never happened in the game is just wrong!
The 1st Resident Evil film wasn't terrible 'cos it was nothing to do with the games except there were zombies. The Second was terrible and it was made worse 'cos they had people from the games doing things they didnt do in the games.
Final Fantasy wasn't so bad 'cos again it wasn't really anything to do with the games.
Even looking at this film on it's own, with a different title and different names of the people it's still dredfull.
PLEASE! No more remakes and no more based on video games!
