It's Christmas Eve and radio talk show psychologist Marcia Fieldstone has asked her listening audience what they are wishing and dreaming of during this season of hope. A little boy, who is tuned in f...( read more  read more... )rom Seattle calls in his wish, a new wife for his father who has been widowed for a year and a half. Meanwhile, all the way across the country, punching buttons on her car radio as she drives from Baltimore to Washington, D.C., Annie Reed hears Jonah and is immediately captivated by him and his selfless Christmas wish. Jonah and his dad are immediately besieged by countless letters from listeners reaching out to help, including thousands of marriage proposals from women across the country. Meanwhile, Annie becomes convinced that it is her destiny to meet Sam, Jonah's lovely dad. And as Annie sees it, there are just two minor problems. First, she is presently engaged to marry another man whom she does love. And, of course, Jonah's dad does not even know yet that he and Annie are made for each other.

Although this film relies so much on the plot of 'An affair to remember' the central protagonists act splendidly. Every scene fits in seamlessly with the next; this film has so many quirks, namely 'David Hyde Pierce'(Niles from Fraiser) is supremely witty in his brief part as Rya...( read more)n's (Annie's) brother. I also loved the theme of the United States map, the classic songs, Rosie O' Donnell's extra-marital affairs, Walter's allergies, Clarise's blandness (babysitter), 'tirimasu' and lastly but most importantly 'Jonah.' It wouldn't have been the same without him. The fact that the fashions of the 90's are reflected in the film makes it interesting. People didn't seem as interested in fashion trends in the 90's; I loved the coats. If you loved this movie you must watch 'You've got mail.' Sure this movie is a classic chic flick but it''s also an appropriate family film. I've watched this film many times with my family and although the boys groan when I say I'm popping it into the DVD film, there are no real objections. If you haven't watched it, do.

Sweet, sentimental and a little sickly but certainly not the worst rom-com/chick flick I've ever seen!

A little boy Jonah calls a radio statiion to say he wanted a new wife for his dad who is widowed. Thousands of marriage proposals some in. Jonah is set on a girl called Annie (Meg Ryan) and she feels destined to meet Sam (Tom Hanks) . Drags on a bit, but can't wait until they meet.

what i like about Sleepless in Seattle is this movie didn't show much of quixotic scenes...there's none, actually...but the whole story is distinctive and beautiful...tom hanks' the best...

WAY over-rated. Hanks isn't nearly cute enough to be a leading man, and Ryan is irritating.

The lovely romantic film in tom hanks life history might be... Wow the story line even matches the old film you've got mail... if u watch it first... u will surely do... Its like meg ryan meeting tom hanks at the last minute of the film and they took the film into a massive slow ...( read more)romantic mood which creates inner our heart and it looked so soft... I loved this film especially the music and the expressions all matters from tom hanks and meg ryan which overflowed a lot in the climax scene nothing got bored and nothing went less interest... everything in this film was romantic and was heart touching and it was nice entertaining night movie... a slow romantic movie...
