Funny & gross, the movie is a nice homage to 80's sci-fi/horror. Great special effects for a small budget, and Nathan Fillion is damn funny in the lead role.
Started to watch this film got at least 30 mins in the film, but it was too gross. I didn't find it funny at all. I usually force myself to stick with horrible films but SNL was on.
Schlock and sweet comedy with the guy from Firefly in it - and, if you're going to have a tentacle-rape scene, set it to a country song! Good fun with space horrors loose.
The concept here is an alien organism that looks like the result of the Dreamcatcher and bodysnatcher aliens breeding invade earth and wreak havok on a small Ameriacan town. Still following me? Well this film falls under the category as being a highclass cheesey B movie that does not bring anything worthwhile to you'r TV screen but thankfully is no where near boring so you will not regret seeing this movie. Savvy?
Great Movie. I seen it like in 07. It was very good pretty disgusting. Which makes it even better. I reccommend it to horror fans and gore whores. Great Great Movie.
Slither is one of those great throw back to the 80's horror movies. That includes cooky charecters, cheesy dialogue, 2nd rate effects, and loads of gore. But succseeds in keeping its viewers glued to the screen. In no way shape or form is Slither an "Original" movie but it is extremely entertaining. Giving you gore by the tons and a couple laughs along the way. This is not the movie for those with a delicate stomach. So if you want a cheesy, gory, good time then I would definitly check this one out.
It was meant to be the American version of Shaun of the Dead, and I was really disapointed. It wasn't scary and it wasn't funny. There were some disgusting bits, but it really was so bad.
This is reminiscent of a sort of old movie that not a lot of people know about, Evolution, which is one of my favorite comedies. Now this isn't just a big joke movie. It did have a few funny one-liners, and Nathan Fillion said most of them. He is great in this movie. Even though most of the movie made me cringe with disgust, I still thought it was awesome. But if you have a weak stomach, I wouldn't watch this.
very enjoyable horror comedy that is just fun to watch because it doesn't take itself seriously at all. I am really looking forward to see if James Gunn can really make a mark in the horror genre because he has certainly proved himself capable of greater things with this movie
The general concept lacks common sense. Even if you ignore that crazy old man's haunting of Starla, which gives the whole thing an amazing sense of boredom, ah, you still get a trite idea including some brain-controlling worms from outer space threatening to take over the human race (pardon, did I hear someone saying 'Lovecraft'?).
At least the gore was encouraging. Some scenes were so gross that they kept me awake till the end of the movie, not quite sure whether that was a good thing or not...
James Gunn probably grew up watching old school, black and white B-movies because when he made this one, it was screaming "The Fly" and "The Toxic Avenger" and the "Basket Case" all the way.
You can safely call it a homage to old school horror B-movies because for one thing, they didn't use CG to create monster Grant which is like a good thing because you have something different to look at, not some pixelized crap we've been seeing these days. The gore was also there, I can hardly contain myself from puking with all the blood and guts and lastly, the performances from the actors were quite impressive.
Pretty much a typical horror. No special ending, weak CGI (Though I have to admit that the 'whiplash' and the 'popping' scenes were completely satisfying), and lots of fun. What could've been an even more interesting story (What happened to object x that caused object y's epidemic outspread?) is pushed aside and the ubiquitously possessed hosts turn into an aliencentric cliche. The blood and gore gives this movie a positive rating. :D
Filmão!! Pode ser sucessor espiritual de "Noite dos Arrepios", clássico dos anos 80 e um dos meus favoritos do terror de todos os tempos! Recomendado a todos aqueles que sentem falta dos filmes BONS de terror!
Movie was so funny. Had a very funny horror story. That shit that Grant turned into was disgusting. It was cool when the guy got ripped in half. His hand stretching out was disgusting too. I saw this movie two times and I still love it.
