Slow Dancing in the Big City
This three-hanky drama chronicles the tragic love affair between a New York columnist (said to be patterned after Jimmy Breslin) and a terminally ill ballerina. The ailing woman has moved into the columnist's building after she and her boyfriend break up. Despite her debilitating disease, the poor girl is forced to keep on dancing. The columnist learns of her plight and decides to write a story about her in addition to his other assignment, which is to write about an orphan trying to survive in the ghetto.
