Ok so my main issues with this movie are A. I have never been as stoned as Faris' character appears to be. B. There is a lot of wasted pot in this movie. And C. Lest we forget that she is totally stoned stupid, they feel the need to constantly remind us every ten seconds. I mean...( read more) I know stoners don't have good short term memory, but talk about beating a dead horse. It was unimaginative, stupid and worst of all made anyone who smokes pot out to be a complete and utter idiot. I didnt laugh once. Insulting stoner 'humor'.

Quite why Gregg Araki would follow his career high of Mysterious Skin with this, is anyones guess. Perhaps after child abuse to need to tackle the lightest subject available. So here we have a stoner comedy which is just a girl being stoned and doing stuff. Much of it seems far t...( read more)oo over-the-top and it aims it's sights pretty low. It was quite refreshing to see a drugs film that wasn't incredibly depressing, but if this is the outcome, I'd say keep it miserable.

Smiley Face was pure shit as far as entertainment goes, but if some right-wing evangelical religious sect secretly commissioned Gregg Araki to make an anti-pot movie then well done. Well done indeed because this movie made me never want to even look at a bong again. Anna Faris, w...( read more)ho's normally hysterical was equally boring and annoying here while most of the secondary characters seemed more fun. Araki did some interesting things but when the soundtrack is easily the best thing about the movie you're in trouble. And so is the movie.

I truly, whole-heartily abhor and hate Anna Faris. I think she's a talentless, uninteresting actress that has and will never make a decent film. And it was to my greatest annoyance to see that Gregg Araki -one of my most favorite directors- chose her to star in his film. A movie ...( read more)about marijuana that has Anna Faris starring in it would be the last choice I would ever make in a video store. I'd even pick Scooby Doo, but never that movie! Yet, I always know that a movie carrying Gregg Araki's signature at its worst is a good film. And the splendid director didn't fail me!
Smiley Face is a very originally outlined film, despite the fact that it is negotiating a quite familiar theme. Adam Brody and Danny Masterson were for me the apocalypses of this movie. It was so whatever, so random, so up and down -you really can't help but laughing. A really great comedy, which proves exactly that: give a good director the insanest of scripts and you have a comedy you can't stop laughing about.

I'm not a huge fan of stoner comedies, but my devotion to Anna Faris led me to give Smiley Face a shot. After seeing her as an incredibly sexy bunny in The House Bunny, it was quite an adjustment to see her playing the role of a normal, everyday person. Well, a normal, everyday p...( read more)erson with a HUGE pot habit.

Her character, Jane, stumbles from one paranoid freak-out to another as she tries to accomplish several goals in one day. Many of the resulting situations are very funny, and she sees some pretty entertaining hallucinations as well. If you're a fan of stoner comedies or of Anna Faris, try out Smiley Face. You're guaranteed to get a laugh or two.

I thought this was really funny! You gotta be stoned when you watch it tho. The pace of the film, the music, colour and humour really worked for me and left me feeling happy. Judging by a lot of the reviews of the film, not many people like it, but I loved it!!
