Plot: A young girl uncovers a disturbing secret about her twin sister, who committed suicide just a few months before.
It wasn't bad, but the characters were certainly retarded. Unlike some people who had reviewed this - I though it was predictable. Having seen two movies, What lies beneath and Shutter, which had a similar distribution of characters. Some pretty good jumps and scary bits. Also what are a bunch of 18 year olds acting so reserved. I didn't see any proper partying here at all!
Okay, I like probably a few other people mainly saw this only because it has Hilarie Burton in it,and I was kind of annoyed that she wasn't in it more, I mean it could totally be me but it seemed that she was in a scene and than she didn't come back until like three scenes later. And her boyfriend in this was like a total jerk. But other then that lol, I really really liked it, like there were a couple parts that were a tad predictible but the end OMG! surprised the heck out me I mean I thought I knew where it was going and then BAM! that happens. But really it was a good movie. And an AWESOME cast.
This movie keeps you on your toes. It is a good thriller with suspence. It keeps you guess what is going on. I really enjoyed it.
That was so wrong how they buried that little girl after they hit her and never told anyone about it.
Standard supernatural thriller with a few good scares and a mostly likable cast. Average, but not terrible.
Not much of a horror movie. All it revealed was that Sophie and her bf killed Malin due to their reckless driving.
It can never get too obvious. Just when I thought the twist would turn one way, it goes completely in a different way..or else i'm losing my knack at it. Not really as gory or scary as I thought it would be but it still had some scenes that made me stifle a giggly scream. I get easily scared alright, even if I know what's going to happen next. LOL.
This was actually pretty good. First of this surely wasn't horror. I was surprised. I like to rent movies that "look" like b-rated ones...hahaha. Thought this was gonna be it...this reminded me of another I saw not to long ago "the return" with Buffy. But this was one of the best b-rated movies I've seen yet.
The joy of high school graduation is shattered for Meghan when her twin sister Sophie commits suicide at a graduation party following an argument between them. Weeks later, her best friends persuade her to join them on their annual summer trip to Hawaii, their last before scattering to different colleges. Meghan is reluctant at first as the cottage in Hawaii holds too many memories of her sister, but Sophie’s boyfriend finally convinces her that it would be good for her to get away and it her sister would have wanted it that way.
What should have been a fun week in a tropical paradise turns ominous as Meghan starts to feel the presence of her sister all around. When mysterious and eerie things start to occur, she is convinced here sister is trying to contact her from the dead. Slowly she convinces her friends that she is not imagining things and on the night of the summer solstice, when this world and the next are closest in harmonic convergence an apparition appears to them all from the other side, but it is not Sophie and the messages it carries will change their lives for ever.
This was a very entertaining movie. I didn't see that ending coming but I did figure out that something was not quite right. This is one of those very creepy movies that are fun to watch. The plot was decent and they didn't go to far overboard with the creepy special effects. Its not movie genius but it is a good one to see.
With a dash of the Woods and a sprinkling of The Devil's Backbone...this ghostly film delivers a great twist.
A bit clichéd, but quite well-made for a straight-to-dvd production. On the whole though, it's nothing we haven't seen before.
I know it's only January but this is the best film I've seen so far this year!
It is the story of a girl whose twin sister commited suicide and as she spends time with her friends celebrating the Summer Solstice, weird things start happening to haunt her. Her friends think it's all in her imagination because of her grief but eventually they get drawn in as well.
It's not groundbreaking stuff but the film is really well done, the acting is very convincing (although why she'd want to be friends with such insensitive and self-centred people is never explained) the atmosphere is gradually built up and, while not being scary, it is a good, creepy ghost story with a couple of good jump scares thrown in as well.
Even better, I thought I had the twist all worked out and I was wrong which is why I don't want to give too much of the story away in case I spoil it.
Just watch it and see for yourself. If you liked 'The Woods', I'd say that you'll enjoy this.
very good, the boyfriend was creepy from the start, could tell he had sumthing to do with what was happening!
A cross between Skeleton Key, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Gothika. Although not as good as any of them. Good scenery and cinematography during the opening credits, though.
