Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"The moments between the characters are absolutely full. It's a pleasure to watch such consummate professionals."
‑ Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle
"The movie itself reveals nothing, but it's entertaining."
‑ David Edelstein, Slate
"Delightful comedy, older teens and parents only."
‑ Nell Minow, Common Sense Media
"Nancy Meyers squanders the abundant talents at her disposal on a film whose look and vision seem to have been borrowed from commercials for cholesterol medications."
‑ Thomas Peyser, Style Weekly (Richmond, VA)
"Something's Gotta Give is a delightful romance movie, but most likely will be categorized as a "Chick Flick"."
‑ Rafe Telsch, CinemaBlend.com
"Ms. Keaton projects her wondrously warm personality, and the erstwhile Jake Gittes keeps us entertained with a sense of irony that keeps things from getting too sticky."
‑ Andrew Sarris, New York Observer
"Something's Gotta Give is exactly the kind of 'adult' dreck that you'd expect to see on Broadway."
‑ Charles Taylor, Salon.com
"Vintage Nicholson and Keaton, like fine wines, improve with age."
‑ Kam Williams, Princeton Town Topics
"Something's Gotta Give is an entertaining romp with two fantastic actors, but a lack of concern for its story is ultimately the film's death."
‑ Joe Utichi, FilmFocus
""Something's Gotta Give" makes for good repeat viewing on DVD."
‑ Mark Robison, Reno Gazette-Journal
"A comedy of manners (and mannerisms) with two of the most mannered movie stars of our time, Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson, acting all over the place until you surrender with the ecstasy of pure pleasure."
‑ Rex Reed, New York Observer
"In a rare -- if not entirely convincing -- bow to older audiences, Something's Gotta Give teams Nicholson with Diane Keaton in a romantic comedy that's funnier than it is trenchant."
‑ Robert Denerstein, Denver Rocky Mountain News
"...an adult romantic comedy populated by pleasant people who say witty, charming things and have about them an air of unforced sophistication."
‑ Philip Martin, Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
"Keaton has been handed the role of a lifetime, a Ferrari among Edsels, and she floors that baby from start to finish."
‑ Lori Hoffman, Atlantic City Weekly
"This ugly, repugnant ending, which I won't describe but you can surely guess before you buy a ticket, had me feeling like I'd wasted ninety minutes of my human existence."
‑ Oz, eFilmCritic.com
