Delightful little British flick, highlighting the friendship between two very different boys and their hilarious attemps to remake 'Rambo'. The childish will to suspend disbelief and escape into a world of imagination is beautifully realised. Equally funny and touching. What it l...( read more)acks in depth, it certainly makes up for in pure lighthearted fun and the genuine performances from the two lead boys is highly commendable. All that and some very cool early 80's set pieces make this a very delightful little gem.

there was a major inconsistency right at the center of the plot, and the seriousness infused into the film detracted from what should have just been a very fun movie. despite these points the film was a lot of fun to sit through, especially for those that enjoy british humor. t...( read more)he concept was good and the movie was entertaining, unfortunately its hard to nail down the target audience. the film was made about kids but infused with too much adult language to be kid friendly. overall solid.

Yeah good movie. The kids are really good actors. I think the story panned out really well too. I was kind of thinking, oh no its going to be really cheesy because its a hollywood movie and the dialogue just flowed right along so i was smiling all the way through. def worth watching

Superb nostalgia film about friendship and growing up in the 80's between 2 boys who are polar opposities of each other: one's a mischievous thieving tearaway and the other is a quiet individual and part of a religious Quaker like society but they bond together to make a short fi...( read more)lm for legendary BBC kids show Screentest after watching Rambo:First Blood. I could identify a lot with this movie as I grew up in the same era - it's definitely one of the best Brit flicks from the past 5 years. The 2 leads are fantastic and the soundtrack is to die for. This was an amazing imaginative film to watch. Highly recommended.

After I tell people they need to see Son of Rambow, they look at me funny and say they aren't really into Rambow movies. Neither am I, and this isn't a Rambow movie, its a movie about youth and friendship. This has to be one of my new favorite comedies.

Well funny. It matches well both comedy and poignancy. The French exchange student playing The Wolf is mint, and I only wish my 6th form common room could have been like the one in this film.
