Cloris Leachman and Paz Vega are definitely at the top of their game in this James L. Brooks melodrama, and the young (and talented) Shelbie Bruce and Sarah Steele give outstanding performances but the not-so-good Adam Sandler (even if he isn't THAT bad) and the annoying Téa Leon...( read more)i (in one of the worst performances I've ever seen on film) along with the weird tone of the movie, between huge tearjerker social/family drama and light comedy feels out of place and proportion. The movie is not hilarious or extremely dramatic, so it's not good nor bad. It's just a movie that promised so many things but never got somewhere. Cloris, Paz and the girls save it a little bit but Téa Leoni is simply too awful to be true... I can't get over that.

3 stars for Grandma, Flor and the girls.

A serious Adam Sandler is quite a relief to the usual junk I find him in.

Some great family issues are looked at here. The mundaneness of family life, the difference in upbringing, values.... all in all definitely worth a watch.

This was a pretty good movie, i thought it was going to be a stupid comediac, yet it turned out to be a different kind of movie. Props to Adam Sandler, keep it up.

Terrible Script. I didn't believe or care for any of the characters. Tea Leoni plays a character that i find distasteful. Not Funny. Didn't feel true to any life situation.
