Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"There's probably better acting from the pole huggers at the Cecil than the sorry-ass cast of Species II."
‑ Steve Newton, Georgia Straight
"A totally unnecessary sequel that will likely only please 12-year-old boys."
‑ Chuck O'Leary, FulvueDrive-in.com
"Pure exploitation of breasts, blood, and beasts, often without digital enhancement. Absolutely freakin' brilliant!"
‑ Luke Y. Thompson, New Times
"what can be said about a movie that focuses largely on the struggle of government agents to keep ex-astronauts from having sex? Leave it to Dr. Baker: 'It's awful,' she moans, prior to the slime-drenched finale. 'Just awful!'"
‑ James Sanford, Kalamazoo Gazette
"You don't need to have seen the original Species to appreciate how utterly lousy Species II is."
‑ David N. Butterworth, rec.arts.movies.reviews
"A clone of the first film except with a small twist..."
‑ Felix Vasquez Jr., Cinema Crazed
"The sequel ups the "silly" ante without bringing any new brains to the table."
‑ Scott Weinberg, DVDTalk.com
"I loved the exploding alien birth. What a riot!"
‑ Shannon J. Harvey, Sunday Times (Australia)
"Species II may be notable only in that it is an extreme, sadly robust example of the troubling trend of modern horror films to give sex a bad name."
‑ David Bartholomew, Film Journal International
"'It's awful; it's just awful, gasps Marg Helgenberger in one scene of this absolutely abysmal follow-up ... viewers are likely to find their heads nodding in agreement."
‑ Steve Biodrowski, ESplatter
"A stinky sequel with a huge DUH factor."
‑ Kevin Carr, 7M Pictures
"For all the blood and gore, nudity, and sex thrown in, Species II is, quite simply, a vapid bore."
‑ Michael Dequina, TheMovieReport.com
"Species II is one sequel that screams...Yuck! It also conjures up...Why? Screenplay be damned. Acting? Throw it out the window."
‑ Elias Savada, Nitrate Online
