THIS is what I call an action movie. Speed is relentless. This isn't about plot or character development, it's about rushing breathlessly from one extreme situation to the next.

All of the action sequences work well, even as they get more and more outrageous. Keanu Reeves is we...( read more)ll-suited to this kind of role, because it doesn't require deep, emotive acting. He just reacts to every new situation, and this is the kind of thing that I think he's best at. Speed really does have the perfect name. Don't watch it for any other reason than a quick visual adrenaline rush.

Great when it came out but after a recent viewing, it's not as good as I remember.

A cop has to stop a bomber and rescue some passengers on a bus during rush hour but if the bus stops or goes below 50mph, it will explode. Love this movie. Full of action. Keanu is so cool.

Classic 90's action flick. Widely considered "great" at it's time. Of course it is a little outdated and has definitely been out-done by more recent movies. But this film still holds its value today.

It's an action-junkie's movie with a lot of explosions and cheesy one-line...( read more)rs. The pace of the movie builds the overall tension which serves to keep the audience captivated. There was never really a dull moment, and it was extremely smart for its time.

The acting was a little too 90's, but that's mainly Keanu Reeves fault. It's hard to take him seriously, but I really didn't feel his insufficient acting abilities hindered this film. However, I couldn't help but NOT care if he fell underneath the bus. I liked Sandra Bullock a lot in this movie, but I think Dennis Hopper gave the best performance out of this group.

Most people have seen this movie, and if you haven't, it's a must see. It's a fast-paced guilty pleasure... it's one of the best action movies the 90's has to offer.

What a concept! A bus has to keep above 50 miles an hour or it will blow up. The perfect excuse to have ridiculous stunts, cars getting run over, and other stuff exploding really well! Keanu Reeves has buffed up to look the best I think I've ever seen him. Dennis Hopper is a ...( read more)kick ass villain, and Sandra Bullock is wonderful eye candy; and yes, she portrays a fine lady in constant distress.

One of Reeves' best movies which introduced Sandra Bullock of a bus which has to stay at over 50 mph or a bomb underneath it will explode. Dennis Hopper plays the nutjob that we've all come to expect from him. Exciting and tense.
