isnt venom sposed to not die??? or always get one over on spiderman... or always beat him in a fight or summit the like?? anyhow... it's mostly silly. the 2nd one is the best by far. number 3 is almost as poor as number 1

This film was good but a few parts i felt ruined the whole film for me. In the end i feel it never lived up to spiderman 1 or 2.

Spiderman got a hard time using his new costume. He found his personality changed significantly. Whew...
so he got three enemies, himself, his best-friend, and who is the monster with the disgusting costume? Ah, I forgot. Poor for his lovely friend for dying when he tried to save...( read more) Spiderman.

While Spider-Man and Spider-man 2 set the bar higher for excellence in comic book adaptions, Spider-Man 3 the latest installment in the hugely popular series is a massive step down from those two. It has far too many plot lines and too many villains and that just makes it a cr...( read more)owed mess. While it does boast some really dazzling action sequences and some cool fights in the film, it still can't be saved or salvaged from the over use of everything in Spider-Man3.

Spider-Man 3 tries to elevate the feel and hyper kinetic style of the film with over blown action sequences and on par CGI. But that's not what we need in Spider-Man, no what we need in this film is stronger emotional conviction, more sorrow and a deeper look into the power that turns men in monsters. But sadly we got what Sam Rami thought what audiences would want extreme action, a dark setting(which I liked.) and gloomy style, which is good in all but still can't make up for the lack of care taken to make this movie. As you watch it you feel like your watching Die Hard or a Mark Whalberg movie it doesn't take it's time to tell just one story, it has to tell five: Parker's, Osbourne's, Watson, Brock's, Marko It's just too crowded and contrived at times and really that brings down the value of the film and the high hopes of a highly acclaimed and thoroughly enjoyable third movie. Instead we get a poorly made, adequately acted and jumble film that has high entertainment values but none of the heart of the first two.

Tobey Maguire(Who is a real let down here.) Tries his hardest but can't seem to elevate this film past normal or mediocre if you will. You can see clearly see in some scenes that he is pushing ever so hard to be bad and evil as the film suggest but he can't pull it off, even when he's suppose to have his revelation and go back to good it's not that powerful, but he tries and I will give him the befit of the doubt. Kirsten Dunst(Who was totally annoying here.) is nothing short of bad and just her usual, nothing new self here. She doesn't push hard enough to make her character believable all she does is just stand there and look pretty which is good an all but not enough to say she was good. Topher Grace(Who hired this wimp again?) Is neither good or convincing as the sadistic and all powerful Venom, I felt like he was just another High School bully for Parker to wipe the floor with, I wasn't scared or in awe of Venom, Grace turned him into a cowardly punk instead of the head on villain Venom is, Grace just plain sucks in this and is one of the main reasons this film fails. The cast tries and fails to give this film a good reputation but they can't, they fall and fall hard on the over reliance of CGI and the poor script, but none the less they do adequately here.

Spider-Man 3 is great fun but not great film making, It's a good look at how too much power can corrupt a man and turn a hero into an evil tyrant. But beyond those two good qualities everything else here fails miserable and is just poor entertainment and not as good as it could have been. All in all Spider-Man 3 is an A-Bomb.

4 of 5 stars for the comic book based movie Spider-Man 3. Of the three Spider-Man movies, this is the most complex with the deepest focus on the main characters. Tobey Maguire & Kristen Dunst return in the key roles. The overall plot is about a strange black creature arrives on t...( read more)he Earth and ultimately bonds with Peter Parker making a "black Spider-man". There are several sub-plots in the movie which add to the complexity of the story. There is Harry the son of the bad guy from Spider-Man 2 who first wants revenge for the death of his father, then loses his memory and ultimately things work out OK. There is the "SandMan" who was the guy who really killed Parker's father; able to shift any/all of his body to sand he is difficult to fight. And then there is the engagement of Parker and MJ; well maybe.

As with all of the other Spider-Man movies, this one is extremely well made with good story, good characters and good action. Good special effects. The only reason for not giving a 5 star is the complexity of the plot which doesn't seem to flow well.

I didn't find this as good as the first two. There were too many villians; Vennom, sand man and Harry. I hated Peter and MJ by this point, then they killed Harrya nd he was the only one I liked by this time.

(spoiler) this is a toughy....i love spider-man, I love Sam Raimis Spider-man films, I enjoyed this in the cinema but really felt they messed up with Venom. If Sam Raimi really didn't want to include him, he should have fought for it, not give arguably the best Spidey villain 20 ...( read more)mins screen time, they should have gone into the schizo side of the symbiote bonding with Brock...still good fun though and I cried like a baby when Harry died (sniff)

    Reasons why I saw this:
    1. Impressive CGI effects
    2. Enjoyed S1 and 2 tremendously
    3. New villains Venom(Topher Grace putting on some serious muscle for this and looking cool and evil) and Sandman played wonderfully by Thomas Hayden Church.
    4. Tempting movie trailer that kno...( read more)cked my socks off.

    Reasons that made me cringed:
    1. Cheesy plot, too much love story this time.
    2. Peter Parker strutting like a male rooster and oh please he can t dance!
3.Kirsten Dunst - getting whinnier and more annoying

    Disappointing:
    1. Oh what a tangled web we weaved. Too many stories going on here.
    2. Not enough character development. Venom's screen time was too short.
Sam Raimi, please redeem yourself in Spider man 4.
