Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"Merriman evinces only the soft-focus moodiness of an outdoor-clothing catalog. The supporting cast practically stands on its collective head trying to pick up the slack, but to little use."
‑ Ty Burr, Boston Globe
"The movie just lays there like a well-intentioned, PG-13 after-school special."
‑ Paul Sherman, Boston Herald
"James Redford, son of the screen icon, Robert, proves that more than one member of the family is skilled at spinning incisive family-themed drama."
‑ Phil Villarreal, Arizona Daily Star
"Essentially a feature-length infomercial for white-Latino interracial relationships"
‑ Luke Y. Thompson, New Times
"Some melodramatic flourishes aside, Spin is a small gem worth uncovering."
‑ Sean Means, Salt Lake Tribune
"A forgettable, mellow drama. [It] flirts with exploring important themes, but ultimately only scratches the surface of a few of them."
‑ Jeffrey Overstreet, Looking Closer
"Much of the material here doesn't translate well from book to film."
‑ Jeff Vice, Deseret News, Salt Lake City
