antonia banderas is great! but oh yeah i vaguely remember what teri hatcher is. i think that she was the bad lady who comes into the house? but i remember that that character was blone? or im wrong
This is another good family movie I highly recommend. It is pretty cool and action packed. Sure to be a hit on a late Friday or Saturday movie night with the kids.
Fun movie about a family of secret agents. When the parents get in a heap of trouble, it's up to the kids to come to the rescue. A good watch with some good family-friendly action.
Reviews of this movie convinced me I missed out on something great. Actually, the movie isn't especially impressive, but it is lively and high-spirited. The kids (Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara) are entirely engaging -- a good thing, because it balances out the freaky weirdness of the bad guys and their lair, which is occupied by walking blobs and thumbs. That the family of heroic spies is of Spanish origin is an added bonus -- what better place is there for positive ethnic diversity than in a fun kids' movie?
Carmen (Alexa Vega) & Juni Cortez's (Daryl Sabara) parents: Gregorio (Antonio Banderas) & Ingrid Cortez (Carla Gugino) are two spies to end up falling in love to getting married when the newlywed made a big decision to plan to retired from the OSS: The spy organization.
The Cortez parents are spies for a secret angency, and when their children find out, they become spies too. Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara are the Spy Kids in this Robert Rodriquez flim. As Rodriquez goes from gangster westerns to spy children, he brings along Antonio Banadaras, and resterains himself from showing flying bullets and nasty brawlers. This fun children's movie inspires and has a good message. This begins Alexa Vega's career.
when i was younger, ihad this nagging feeling that i was mean. and yes, i still am. aside from this movie being so unrealistically written, it's total crap. i was a kid, but i knew that this--- is not worth my time.
Rather than make a movie that he thinks kids would like, Rodriguez makes a movie that he feels a kid would have made. That's the charm of this movie series.
Spy kids is a great movie which all family can enjoy. The exaggerations the movie has and the credibility excess didn't bother me because they are complements of the universe this movie has. The cast is really well but Daryl Sabara and Alexa Vega stole the show.
This was a cute movie. Once again Robert Patrick portrays a bad guy, although you see him for maybe ten to fifteen minutes throughout the movie. Nonetheless, I enjoyed his part. However, I also enjoyed the movie for Antonio. Gots to love Antonio. All in all, it had a great cast, a nice plot, and a cute theme.
robert rodriguez does a film for the kids. away from his el mariachi and vampires in from dusk till dawn, and before his sin city, its pretty entertaining and for me, his second best after el mariachi, a superb story, and world created, as two kids growing up under the protection of two top agents played by carla gugino and and antonio banderras, but when here capytured its up to the kids, to learn there true future and go on a mission to free there parents, the pace is relentless, rodriguez really homing in on his scills lerned during his d.i.y years on mariachi, superb set pieces, and a great sence of humour throughoutthe two kids who were new to the acting game, are great to watch, and come off well, alan cumming as the bad guy, is also great, including the bad guys he uses to dish out punishment and rule with, 2 sequels followed, number 2 is quite awfull, but number 3 shot in 3d is enjoyable, in a 3d kinda way, a interesting fact, if rodriguez finishes sin city trilogi, after this and el mariachi trilogi trilogi, thats 3 hes completed, watch out george lucas
Um... I love their names. Really, I do. But the storyline is anything but original and its a little bit kiddish/corny. And the distorted creature things... no comment.
