A fine film and a fine cast. The four 'kids we're wonderul. I could not choose between who was the stand out role as they all were really.A real gem of a film about childhood and friendship.
I liked this movie. It had a great meaning to it. Thou when the movie finished the ending took me by surprised. I thought that it was a true adventure about friendship. I could relate to how gordie felt in a way, it was sad. But it was a really interesting.
A really great classic about four kids that set out to search for a kid that died. They go on this sweet adventure and have a great time. Can't even explain how good it is!!!!!!!!
Great movie about growing up in the 50s. Based off of a short story by Stephen King. Rob Reiner named his film company after the fictional town this movie (and a lot of other King stories) are set in.
I was surprised that this was a Stephen King story (mind, I like his horror books). This quaint coming-of-age tale always brings a tear to my eye. It is moving without being overly sentimental.
This is great film making. You have real characters, a simple enough story and you tell it beautifully. I love those young actors, they make this more than just a film.
The eighties were wonderful for creating ensemble cast movies that were exceptional and this was one of those. A classic tale of coming of age for young men.
"Vern didn't just mean being off limits inside the junkyard, or fudging on our folks, or going on a hike up the railroad to Harlow. He meant those things, but it seems to me now it was more and that we all knew it. Everything was there and around us. We knew exactly who we were and exactly where we were going. It was grand."
A good story about friends that stick together. More movies like this should be made. Fantastic cast, great performances from Phoenix, Wheaton, Feldman, O'Connell and Sutherland. Wonderfully written and great direction throughtout the film. This movie is great from start to finish.
A cute movie, but not reall scary, funny, or heart warming. It's a little bit of everything reall with a couple of cool fun moments. The train track scene was probably the best in the whole movie, but the whole film is filmed really well and set to a good music score. However the most impressive performance in the movie I have to say was down by O'Connell and Sutherland. O'Connell does a grerat job for being in his first film and is funny to watch. Sutherland makes the perfect greaser and personifies the bad teen role and you can't help but smile when you see him on screen. Still the movie moves slow at some parts and it's mostly a feel good film. I liked, but it just isn't my favorite film. Theres nothing to dislike about this film, so you'll enjoy it when you wacth it.
Being a massive Stephen King fan and particularly of the book this short story comes from (the same of Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, mind you), I came with high expectations... and the film didn't fail me, at all. Beautiful, brilliant, and yes, a fantastic adaptation of King's story... and the four leads were brilliant, just as Kiefer Sutherland was.
