Italian schlock-master Luigi Cozzi (billed as Lewis Coates here) directed this low-budget Star Wars rip-off in 1978, right when the sci-fi craze was hitting audiences on a world-wide scale. The story begins familiarly enough, with a huge spaceship tracking through an extremely colorful space scene… More

Critic Reviews

  • R. L. Shaffer, IGN DVD

The single greatest sci-fi camp fest ever put on celluloid. This film boasts the perfect blend of goofy cheese and unhinged imagination.

  • Sean Axmaker, Parallax View

... both the most ridiculous and the most irresistible of all the Star Wars knock-offs of the late seventies and eighties.

  • Matt Brunson, Creative Loafing

This isn't a bad movie like The Switch or Grown Ups, where even once is too much; this is the type to be savored again and again, like a patented Ed Wood mess-terpiece.

  • Phil Hall, Film Threat

Long ago, in a low-rent Italian galaxy far, far away...

  • Gerry Shamray, Sun Newspapers of Cleveland

Sexy Caroline Munro is the only reason to watch.

One of the worst sci-fi movies of the decade, it stars actors who aren't usually in sci-fi movies anyway, the story is less than average, and the style is obviously taken directly from Star Wars. I'd say stay away from this one.

So this is probably one of the worst sci-fi films made haha and I don't think it was suppose to be with a cast including Christopher Plummer and David Hasselhoff. Sure they weren't big stars back then, well Plummer may have been known, but this is suppose to be a reasonably… More

Seems liken who ever see's this movie mentions how chessey it is, and in the chesse department I have to give it 5 stars. Only reason I rented this was because it has the same director as in Alien Contamination, Luigi Cozzi I figured I give him another chance. Must admit no sure… More

An awesome Star Wars imitator which goes its own interesting direction. I liked the rainbow spectrum of stars in space, it looks all Christmassy. There are some great sequences of creature and robot stop motion animation. Marjoe Gortner is a freakin' great wizard/warrior/pilot… More
