Plot: Baal travels back in time and prevents the Stargate program from being started. SG1 must somehow restore history.
From the very beginning you can tell, this is gonna be classic SG-1. A great opening scene. The alternate timeline story was pleasantly twisted and not boring, like they often are when you know from the beginning that everything is gonna turn out fine. I was quite pleased with the way things went in that area.
Lots of great scenes, and lots of appearances from long past friends and enemies. My only quibble is Jack's screen time. I was expecting to see more of him. Jack had to be in this due to his history with Baal, but he didnt get the pleasure of fighting or bickering with him again. There was also a lack of screen time between Jack and Sam. I must admit I had high expectations in this area.
But, in the end far better than The Ark of Truth, and if this was an episode of SG-1, it would be the absolute best.
Like Ark of Truth, this movie was quite underwhelming. It just felt like a normal episode and the whole alternate timeline/dimension plot device they use so many times makes it feel completely recycled. Not to say it was bad, it was just standard SG1, not what a "movie" should have been.
About as good as "The Ark of Truth", but this time with other bad guys and the welcome return of Richard Dean Anderson. Also to be noted is that this is a film intended almost solely for fans of the series. So if you have only seen the original from 1994 with Kurt Russel and James Spader, then it's likely you'll end up a a little lost here, as there's almost 10 years worth of episodes between that film and this one.
Shame about the paradowical reverting of time so they didn't know what had happened after the film ended. I suppose everyone knew what was going to happen, spesh when Colonel O'Niel died but anways... stargate geek
...a great movie, but more like an episode then a movie. the Business as usual approach at the end left a little something to be desired. Not a great one, but definitely good... Nice to see some of the missing faces back too

As much as this will rock people still shouldn't rate the film based on the series' alone. Not until it's been released or anything like what happened with "Stargate SG1 - Ark of Truth" being leaked ^^.
I cant wait for both the films to come out. I'm just wondering what, if any, connection the story lines will have to each other and to the show.
Stargate rocks I can't wait to se the film i still hoping that they'll make more stargate after this though !!
