    SCI FI Channel has rounded out its cast of the drama-adventure series, "SGU: Stargate Universe," with an array of celebrity guest stars, set to make appearances throughout the season including, Richard Dean Anderson, Christopher McDonald, Grammy nominated recording artist, Janelle Mone, Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks, Gary Jones and Carlo Rota. The new original one-hour series stars Robert Carlyle, Lou Diamond Phillips and Ming-Na. Produced by MGM Television, the series is currently in production in Vancouver, BC and is set to premiere on SCI FI in October 2009 with a special two-hour episode.

    Edgier and younger in tone, "SGU" will take the franchise in a dynamic new direction, appealing to longtime "Stargate" fans and first-time viewers alike. The two-part premiere of "Universe" is being directed by Andy Mikita ("Stargate Atlantis," "Stargate SG-1") and lensed by Rohn Schmidt ("The Shield," The Mist).     Richard Dean Anderson is the best. Kurt Russel doesn't have the humour or the clever and funny lines.

    Although the film did come first

    Better O'Neil? Definitely RDA, but then again, I've never really liked Kurt Russell.

    As for Daniel Jackson, I like both, but I think I prefer Michael Shanks just a little bit more.

    Yes, me and my mum keep on watching the series over and over and whenever Micheal comes on the scene we sit there and say how cute he is! it's really funny. yer n i spose he had more time but im sorry, i really think he's better though.

    Well, Michael Shanks had more time to expand on the character, give him a lot of quirks that I love. And yes, definitely cuter.

    Richard Dean Anderson is totally the better O'Neill. I love the series and the movie but i wish they would just keep the characters the same in both of them. like have RDA and Micheal Shanks (Daniel) in the movie. Hey Which is the Better Daniel, James Spader or Micheal Shanks. I totally say Micheal Shanks hes cuter. lol

    Richard Dean Anderson is a much better o'neill. I have been a fan of both the movie and the series for a long time trust me, richard is much better then Russell

    For my money RDA makes a better O'Neill. It's not really fair to compare though, RDA got to spend a lot more time with the character then Russell did.
