This is a very sweet musical. The acting is very pleasant and well cast. Charles Winninger and Fay Bainter are particularly good. Very enjoyable and charming, good songs, great production as well.

one of my fave musicals. Oklahoma is the best but this is the second. i just love the music and the story line

pretty decent movie. charming, witty musical comedy with an extra-thick slice of Americana camp. probably not one of R&H's best, but it fits in nicely with the stage-to-screen efforts for which they're better known. the songs are extremely similar and not very catchy or memorab...( read more)

Less ambitious than some other Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals State Fair is nevertheless an entertaining movie. There isn't much of a plot, but the characters are likable and the music is lovely - including the classic It Might as Well be Spring sung here by Jeanne Crain, or rath...( read more)
