Although the plot was just a mixture of "Brainscan" and "Ghost Game", this was still entertaining for the first half an hour or so. There wasn't very much in the way of gore though as it was obviously made to appeal to kids. Characterisation was minimal and there were no real sca...( read more)

I really liked this low budget horror. If you love playing survival horror video games like Resident Evil, you should enjoy this. People start dying after they play a video game, exactly the same way as they die in the game. Is there a link and how can they survive before they ar...( read more)

A group of kids play a videogame which links them to a Vampire Countess, and when they die in the game, they also die in real life. It has some cool gaming sequences, where things get quite scary. I don't know how much real kids would actually get into a vampire game. There's a n...( read more)

Very interactive...to say the least. It made me look at video games like Metroid differently.

Not even entertaining for a second. I thought it would be stupid and funny, but not even. nothing even made me laugh, or scared. The only redeeming value it could have had was gore and since it was PG13, fat chance. Only chance they took at shock value was constant "fuck" and "b...( read more)

Critic Reviews
It's amazing how little Stay Alive actually knows about the videogame culture in which its terror-lite tale is set. full review

November 23, 2008Now I'll never play survival horror games the same way again! Haha... Oh, and the reference to Fatal Frame? Neat! Love the antique camera that Abigail has with her!

April 15, 2008MrsBiggerstaff: Frankie Muniz didn't die in the first place. He fell amongst wild roses and thus couldn't be touched and the roses killed the ghost of the countess (at least in his area....)
and i personally agree with those that said october shouldn't have died in the movie!!! she rocked!
good good movie! -
February 2, 2008Ok odd story here. After I first saw this I was seriously hearing the vibrating sound everytime I was alone. It was freaky.

January 7, 2008"Several Roses in the Game to Rule Then All!!" One of the worst films ever created in 06. As I recently just watched this in 08 and was curious to see if it was any good I have lots to say about it. The concept was good but I would rather play the video game than watch this film. The animation of the video game was even better than the real actors in reality. Yes that's right the acting is horrid and the lead actor guy makes me want to work out.. but not act like he does. This so called horror film had lots of other essence of movies to it. For instance the main villain woman looked like Mary Shaw and the demons came from "The Grudge". In the game itself it sounded like the main guy in those "Saw Movies". LOL to Frankie Muniz!!! The Scariest part in this film was... DON'T WORRY NOT A SPOILER!! the main buff guy was washing the plastic red cups. The creator's of this movie should have spent more time in the gaming world rather than reality. 1 1/2 stars

August 8, 2007Although it may be a good film for 11 year olds, it isn't of much interest to adult horror fans. It was well done in places but everything was just too toned down to appeal to anybody really. It certainly isn't in any way scary.

July 12, 2007I'm still confused w/ the end of the story. Swink was died in the game, but how come was he still alive?
I guess better all the girls died or October alive than Abigail alive. Grr.. She kissed Hutch!! I dont like :(
Haha -
June 22, 2007I loved this movie, and yeah I wish that October lived and not the blonde. I know that the countess was real because I saw a doc. on her a long time back, she was from an eastern European counter I think, she killed hundreds of girls before she was locked away in a wing of home, I think because back then nobility were considered above the law and could not be executed.

June 6, 2007I am obsessed with this movie. The only thing that bugs me about it is that Swink (Frankie Muniez) lived even though he died in the game, so only the siblings were killed from their group.
After watching this movie for the first time I didn't sleep for a week, and I kept imagining things.
Also, this movie would be a good video game except for the whole "dying in real life". -
April 27, 2007great movie great gore....... true story about Elizabeth Bathory( real name erzabet Bathory) she bathe in virgins blood and bit and loved to bit her servants flesh and chew it............ Elizebeth Bathory......the coooooooolest girl alive! 1514-1640 she's my idol!!!!!

April 22, 2007I love this movie so much! I did not like abigail though, and was really mad that they killed october becuase I didnt want her to die. I loved the part when Hutch finds October after her throat was slit and he was all like I can fix this that almost made me cry.
