For a comedy to work it must be funny. Step brother is rarely funny or entertaning and is just a mix of old Will Ferrel gags from previous movies which weren't funny either. There's nothing more fun then watching grown men act like children.
There have been some great comedies this summer, and this is one of them. The funniest part for me would have to be when they became rich and beat up all the kids, it was awesome. Overall it was funny and the characters were surprisingly fresh, so props to Ferrel, Reilly, & co.
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly reunite in the hilarious comedy Step Brothers that takes two 40year old men that live with their parents and turn them loose as they become step brothers by way of marriage. It is riddled with hilarious dialogue and slapstick antics, and has the age old and fan approved Ferrell method of making someone laugh. This is enjoyable and entertaining all the way through. The two lead actors fed off eachothers energy and had an on screen chemistry that was second to none, that backed up with an equally talented and funny ensemble cast made for a very good watch , one in which you cant help but laugh out loud at again and again.
Too Freakin funny!!! OMG!! If you liked the humor and storyline of Walk Hard the Dewey Cox story,or possibly Semi-Pro you will love this,it's completely ridiculous but a great time,you will laugh your ass off!Check it out!
amazing! really really good. i think will ferrell and john reilly work really well together. there were times where it almost looked like they were real brothers. good story line as well. GREAT
I think this film is pure genuis and the characters are some of the most enjoyable since anchorman.This has to be one of the funniest films of all time John C reilly best performance yet A must watch for anyone who wants A loud laugh full of crude obnoxious down rite slapstick comedy thats gets an A + from me
This was good it was better then I thought it was going to be and it does have some funny parts in the movie like Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly fighting. Two grown men acting like kids still living with there parents is actually not that bad a story with some good comedy put in it.
Another Will Ferrell comedy where he teams up with John C Reilly as they play 40 year old step brothers who still live at home and pretty much just act like children the whole time untill there forced to grow up being a Ferrell fan this another one of his top movies even though it does fall alittle short of being as funny as Talladega Nights the other comedy starring him and Reilly really worth checking out
i love these two actor together. When they are on their own they are still good to watch but when you bring them both together on the screen they create hilarity and bring stupidity to a whole new level. Kudos to these two very good comedians. They play stepbrother whose parents just gotten married and now must learn to find a way to live with each other. I wont reveal much since you'll have to watch it yourself and laugh your ass off at every dumb thing they just like jim cary and jeff daniels did in the classic dumb and dumber.
kudos to the lead actors as well as the supporting performances from richard jenkins and mary steenburgen who are two gifted character actor. The story written by the 40 year iold virgin director judd apatow and adam mckay.

Dang i couldnt wait to see this movie. I actually liked it. This movie would be funny to you if u like:
1. will farrel movies
2. u think its funny wen grown men act like kids
3. u like funny ways to cuss
4.if u liked walk hard or blades of glory
A very forced comedy that has it's moments, but mostly comes across as juvenile and assinine. This probably could have been saved by going the extreme non-pc rout and made them mentally deficient, but I think that would have just made the move more in bad taste. I won't say I didn't laugh, I just think considering these are the same people that brought you Talledaga Nights and Anchorman, it should have been better.
