If it weren't for Channing Tatum's extraordinary charm, talent and dancing skills, this movie would be a complete failure, mostly because of the lame, stiff sub-plots and the hideous, boring, completely gray performance by Jenna Dewan who has no right to be in a lead role. Both the music and the dancing are incredibly outstanding and Channing steals the movie all the way. If you like dance movies, it may not get any better than this delightful movie.
I lovvvvvvvve this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, it's absolutely beautiful. Channing Tatum and the chick (Jenna ....) were absolutely brilliant WITHOUT A DOUBT!!!! If you enjoy dancing, this is definitely the movie for you. It's absolutely brilliant. Without a doubt!!!~ And the plot gets tense towards the end. Wow... simply amazing. Channing Tatum was hot... so hot he almost reaches Vin Diesel HOT ;)
Would you really watch this film for the storytelling? The only reason I saw it was for the dancing and the music, which was pretty good, but that's all it has for me. The story is predictable drivel of schoolboy dropout blah, blah, blah...
This movie was alright.. I didn't really like the actress Channing Tatum was paired up with, so that didn't make a positive effect on me..
But overall, I liked the movie, mainly because of the storyline and the awesome dance moves..

I love these dance movies and lately it seems like more are being made.If you like dance movies this one is an excellent one to see.love the characters and the dancing made me watch it even more.
it is so hott. i saw half way to the end. and it was pritty good. so the end will be good. and it was good. and it was sad because, the little boy skinny got killed. but this movie was verry cool. and nice.
WOW wow wow !!!....this film was amazing! =]....it was sad when skinny die....but i loved the music and the dancing. I thought tyler can dance more better than Nora but both very good dancers!!!
I liked the 2nd "Step Up" better than the original. Having said that, I saw "Step Up 2 the Streets" first. It was only after viewing this movie did I realize that the two films had pretty much the same plots with the main male/female roles reversed. Still, I preferred the acting in the second film and the more hip-hop-oriented style of dance.
I am pretty sure I have seen tons of movies like this and this movie definitely doesn't stand out from the other ones. If you want to watch something original and unique, avoid this as much as possible and watch something else.
