"The Master of horror unleashes everything you were ever afraid of" is the perfect tagline. Tim Curry is scarily well-cast as the phenomenally powerful IT, suspenseful in all the right ways. Quite time-consuming, but worth it. Chilling flashbacks, a spine-tinglingly scary opening sequence. A disappointing ending that could have been done so much better doesn't drag this movie down too much.
"They all float" ................................................................ dear god this dated badly. Not that it was actually that god to begin with outside of the visuals for Pennywise.
It's shambolic at best, with terrible tv movie acting, silly murder she wrote plot development and frankly not a lick of belivability.
IT is just ridiculous and with zero respect for it's source material it seems. This one is in much need of a new adaptation because frankly this is ludicrous! ............................................................ "Don't you want your balloon?"
This part of the review is about the book, ok? Man the book is awsome, it really chills you but not the movie. Now deduct four and a half stars from the movie result half a star.
Just look at this would you people, there's a stupid looking clown on the cover and the title alone is lame IT. No clown is cooler than me. Maybe it's because eye have never had a fear of clowns but this movie was hillariously unscarey. Will anyone who has a fear of clowns please explain to me why they find them so imtimidateing? Iv'e read the book and can happily say the book is many times better than the movie yes it is long,1138 to be precise but it's a mighty good book. Every single copy of this movie needs to be chunked into a storm drain were they can all float!
A really terrifying thriller about a clown that tortures some kids in an old town, who try to defeat him. The novel by Stephen King was much better, but the movie really creeped me out.
Too long and too boring, and most of all, NOT SCARY! Making this for television was a terrible mistake. The acting and budget was terrible, but as bas as they were they were better than the direction! If ever a movie needed a reboot, it's this one!

Wow! Quite a scary movie, with some memorable and nightmare horror scenes! Now i see why some people hate clowns and find them repulsive. Never liked them myself too. I found the end to be disappointing, but ok,still gave it a solid 3.5
P.S I give 5.0 for the sound fx and the music, they are brilliant!

This was literally the scariest film for me in my youth, and it probably would still scare me more than anything else. I don't have a phobia of clowns, but i like absolutely nothing about them, so i guess for me this film was like a big black cock in the ass. I think the film itself is way too long, however i guess some of the scary scenes are done well, for what that's worth, but the ending was really fucking stupid. other than that, i don't recommend you watch this.
This movie was OK... the book was much better so I don't like the movie as much, but it was spine chillingly creepy and was quite good. Aw, I don't know what I am saying... It was good... hahaha..... so It ids good to watch with girlfriend or something. I say Rent it.
This started very promising and intriguing. Tim Curry as the clown was perfect, although he wasn't extremely petrifying, he's creepy enough to put you off clowns for sometime. The first scene where he appears down the drain is spooky and shocking enough to keep you watching. The child actors were all very convincing and in my opinion performed better than the adult actors in the second half of the film. It was more interesting watching their little gang take on Pennywise than the pathetic clichéd older gang.
As the film progresses you get more annoyed at hearing the rants and whimpers of the lead characters who all individually receive a visit from Pennywise.
Overall, it's okay, in no way brilliant. You laugh a lot more than you scream and the ending is extremely disappointing and ridiculous. Watch this, if only for the performance of Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown.
